Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Just when you think these scammers have gone away or been shut down, they pop up again.

They started calling me a couple weeks ago, claiming to represent the "federal law enforcement division" of Cash Net Express of Brooklyn County New York.  Like the other cases reported here, they claimed that their company deposited funds in my business bank account and when they tried to submit a draft for repayment, the bank refused.

To start with, they did say that a court case is pending and that the sheriff will show up at my front door with a warrant. When pressed for more information, they would not give me a physical address or any more details about their "case".

Ms. Claudia Jones said I could settle the situation for $685, if I would give them my debit card.  I insisted on getting paperwork from them documenting their issue and stating that they would go away if I paid.  They hung up.

About a week later, I get another call, this time from Richard Brown about the same matter. When I called back, a Mr. Ronnie Cooper told me that Richard was not available.  Mr. Cooper then re-stated the "horrible" things that would happen to me and my credit if I didn't pay them. Now, they are willing to accept $300 to get rid of these issues.  But, Mr. Cooper would not provide any physical address information or other details.

I've done a reverse phone look up on the 347-416-5140 phone number (it's very easy to do online), and as it turns out the number is a cell phone with a Manhattan New York address.  Oh, and in case you did not know, there is no county in the state of New York called Brooklyn County.

So, I've filed reports with both the FBI here in Dallas Texas and also filed a report with the Federal Internet scam reporting agency, ic3.  Both of these reports are also easy to file.

They've called again today.  I may try to get more information out of them, but you should be aware that they are a scam.  Do not trust Cash Net Express or anyone that calls themselves a "law enforcement division".  A little homework and online research goes a long way toward helping you (and me) feel more comfortable about this whole thing.  They are not a valid company and they won't get any of my money.

Here's hoping they don't get any of yours either.
