Carfax carfax is not reliable buyer beware pay for an inspection Ripoff Internet
I was looking to buy a used BMW 740il. So I signed up for one month of carfax service. During my search for a Bimmer I found my file with all of my previous cars and their VINs. So just being curious where my other cars had ended up I started looking them up. Well my favorite car was my 2001 Mercedes Benz E55 AMG. I waited for 18 months for this car to be built and only after 12 months of ownership this little B**** with a new honda and just printed DL rear-ended me doing 65mph. I was at a complete stop. The impact threw me into the parking lot of a gas station. My car had $21000.00 worth of damage. The carfax I pulled had no mention of the extensive damage to this $74,000.00 car. The car was sold to someone in Arizona. Poor sap. The E55 was not even welded back together correctly. One tire rubbed because the rear end was off set to the right (passenger side)
I hope the guy in Arizona gets his money back.
DO NOT TRUST CARFAX. Get an independent inspector before buying any used car. The $70 to $100 is money will spent if it keeps you from buying a POS.
PS I bought another Mercedes, from the original owner, with all service records. The only way to buy.
