Big companies like this will continue to stick it to the consumer (to put it politely) until we stand up and demand it stop. In addition to filing complaints with the BBB as well as Federal and State regulatory agencies, the easiest thing you can do is join the "Boycott Capital One" group on Facebook. If we can't get at least a million Facebook users to do this, we (consumers) deserve what Capital One is doing to us!

The customer service phone representatives are of no help and are like robots. They are just programmed to function with no remorse or sympathy. I can tell by their tone that they are just working and are not paid well enough to care and or stand for their job title "customer service rep." I have other credit cards and their customer service reps. are excellent. They care and I always hang up thinking, "these guys really answered all my concerns and even helped me out." I agree that Capital One customer service reps. are the worst I have encountered. After hearing these comments on this website about Cap1 I will be weary of these folk.

I recently received a pre-approved credit card offer from Capital One. Good. Check this out, below they mentioned in very smaall fonts, that they bought my 15 year old charged off account which can not be climed or reported anymore because it's over 7 years old. However, if I signed it and sent it back to them I'd have a credit card with a balance of the original amount I owed to the original creditor. The fact is that, once an agreement is reached, regardless how old the debt is, it becomes an item to be reported to the credit reporting agencies. My advice to all is to avoid this company and specially read very carefully their letters before you sign any offer sent by this evil company.
