I have received several calls from this number 888-787-1183 from a "MISS BRITT". She constantly calls, several times a day concerning a debt that isn't mine. It's my husbands since before we were EVER married. HE has returned calls, but somehow "MISS BRITT" hasn't received the message.

She has YELLED and talked over my voice on the phone which in turn I have had to raise my voice in order for her to hear my questions and concerns.

She has threatened that this debt is MINE and since I have a job, it should be my responsibility.

When I've asked what I should do about this matter, she suggested that I take full responsibility for my husband. This was a business debt never the less, and is being negotiated with my husband's previous business partners.

I've been told that LEGAL ACTION will be taken against me.

I receive calls on my home phone, office phone and cell phone.

She has disclosed the full amount of the debt to me without the consent of my husband and his business partner.

She has called before 8am and after 9pm.

Are you talking to her on the phone?? Never talk to bottom feeders on the phone. You have her address, sent them a "Cease Communication" letter. They are required by law to cease communications, with exception of one letter that states they got yours. Don't be surprised it they try to sue you, however, they have to prove the debt is yours. You also could sue them for violations of the FDCPA (Google it, download the PDF file and spend some time reading..) Also, you may want to check your credit reports to make sure they did not put it on there. (you might want to download the PDF of the FCRA).
