If you are looking to get your hair Braided by BRAIDS BY TAE, I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE/SUGGEST LOOKING ELSE. Her information is

She claims to have 7 years experience at the age of 22. The $70.00 braids she did for me did not match her braids on her website. She refuses to give my money back. She wants to redo my hair but obviously in my opinion she doesn't braid well. She admits her wrongdoing by saying "I understand I was in a hurry and I was wrong for that", When I sat in her unprofessional apartment in Virginia Beach in a kitchen chair for 3 1/2 hours!?! Oh yeah, she claims to be quick 1-1.5 hours at the most for no- knots braids. She also lied and said she took down half my hair?!? She claims to have a sign in her apartment in Virginia Beach that says "NO REFUNDS" another lie. I got home and took pictures, it's a mess (I HAVE INCLUDED PICTURES). JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURES.

These pictures were taken a few hours after her braiding my hair. Can you believe she said "The back looks fine". WOW! Here's her latest ad -

Hi Tay, this is Chudney you did my hair about less than a hour ago. Well i got home and my husbands and I are very unhappy. There is hair left out tge braids they are fuzzy and loose. I am not trying to insult you and thats not my style but my hair looks nothing like the pictures you posted on craigslist. This is not a 70 dollar job honestly i only say that because my husband wants my to take them down. I think you and your family are nice people, but i didnt want or even know how to tell you i was unhappy and i was praying since my hair turned out like such you wouldnt charge me the entire 70 i am sorry i am just extremely unhappy and to hear my husbands mouth about this for who knows how long. Hey Tae,

Thanks for getting back to me. I responded to your ad on craigslist and while corresponding with you, I was informed that "No-Knot" 2 layer braids were $67 (with a military discount), not the $70 I was asked to pay, but that's $3 and not my major concern. I also believed I was getting a $70 ($67) braid job and I wouldn't have minded paying that price if that was the level of service provided by you, but it wasn't.

As I said before, I think you're a nice young lady with a beautiful family. My intentions are not to hurt your feelings or cause any drama, that's not the type of person I am.

At this point I would like my money back. If the service I received would have reflected in the pictures that I viewed on your website, I would have looked elsewhere. I wasted my money, my gas and time away from my family on a Saturday evening. I mean my husband is mad, because not only did it take a long time, but his wife didn't come home looking as he expected... not even close. I am just being honest, I mean nothing personal by this... It's just bad business. You saw my hair before I left and it just didn't look anything like the pictures portrayed on http://www.freewebs.com/braidsbytae/. Why didn't you stop me then, instead of waiting for me to notice and use the excuse of "I was in a hurry"? Why would you schedule an appointment if you didn't have time to do your best work in the the first place? Again, that was just bad business.

As soon as I got home, I took pictures of the "No-Knot braids" you did for me and have included those pictures of my hair exactly the way you left it and... Well the pictures are self explanatory.

Honestly, I am super busy as it is the holidays. I would have to hire a babysitter which would cost me, drive from Norfolk to Virginia Beach again, sit another 3 and a half hours (when you assured me it would only be 1 - 1.5 hours at the most). I was already burdened with having to take these HORRID braids down after having them for less then 24 hours. This entire situation is a waste of my valuable time and money. It's a recession money is not falling off trees I paid you with hard earned money and you blatantly disrespected me and continue to, I mean you didn't care I would go home and see the mess you called braiding on my head. You simply took my money, plain and simple and it mite as well been out my kids mouth because that 70 dollar that you took from me could have bought food for them or things they need for Christmas. Or better yet it could have gone to a braider who was not amateur and knew their job and thus it wouldn't be what is is now A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I am sorry that doesn't set right with me, this seem like a trick or set up and I can NOT and will NOT let that ride.

Is that your work on your website or is that the work of someone else? I am very worried about letting you do my hair again because my hair was done horribly the first time, also you gave me three business cards when I was walking out the door, you must have believed that your work was so good I would refer you to someone and not post a ad on craigslist or a review on your Kudzu.com site about how unprofessional this entire situation was and continues to be. I am a braider myself, I saw the hair in its entirety and there is no way I would let anyone leave my chair looking that bad. Even on my worst day with me speeding through someones hair, I would do a better job and I don't claim to be in business.

Additionally, there is/was NO sign of any sort in your 3816 Keelboat Circle location, it is an apartment with personal affects and nothing professional about it. Is your business even licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Virgina, because the sign was not prominently displayed. There was no salon chair, it was a kitchen chair that I sat in. I can't believe you would try to pull the wool over my eyes when you messed up my hair and even admitted to it in our previous emails. If anything you should have offered to return my money because you admitted I didn't get what I paid for. I honestly think you need to go to your website and erase all the work that isn't yours. At the very least when posting on craigslist, let it be known all the work on your website isn't yours. Anything less would be considered false and misleading advertising in ANY COURT.

Truly Shawnta, if I did your hair so bad you wouldn't want to be seen in public, would you give me a second chance? I value my hair and do not feel comfortable allowing you to ruin it again, I mean would you?

This is Tae, once again I apologize you are unhappy with your hair. I have stated previously that I will redo your hair free of charge and to make it better I can come to you. Also, to answer your question... I would give you another chance especially if I wasn't paying again so i would have nothing to lose. As stated before and i do display a sign bold printed in RED, that I do not give refunds at all. You've seen my work and my reviews so I can guarantee you that you will get what you paid for. As stated before I should not have let you leave that way, you seemed as if you were already in a hurry and I wasn't trying to make it any longer. The back looks fine, but when you wanted me to take half of them down and braid longer that put me behind schedule. I'm not blaming you for this situation but that played a part in it, It takes time to braid longer and since you're a braider you already know that. I make sure every customer can take a look at their hair before they leave and thats exactly what you did, that gave you a chance to tell me what you didn't like about your hair. You even looked at it before i finished and you sat back down and continued to let me braid your hair. So thats why i don't understand why you wouldn't let me redo your hair for you. I don't know maybe it's just me but, If I'm unhappy about my hair I'm definitely going to say something. Chudney please get back to me asap and let me know if you would like me to redo your hair, I know my rights in VA, and if i display a sign stating no refunds, it is at my discretion to do so. I also know that if I offer to redo your hair that i am doing my part. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully we can work this out. Oh and to answer your other question...I definitely would not recommend you to post ads about me on craigslist or kudzu... of course not, right lol but of course i can't control what you do so i hope whatever you decide to do it is with class and maturity. However, i am going to ask you to post a review on my website and just like it says, your comment will be posted as is. As a business savvy person i know that everyone isn't going to be happy and I would like you to post a review. god bless and hope to hear from you soon.
