I am here as a victim from this scrum of the bottom of the earth company blink fitness. I was walking down the street when a staff member dragged me in for a one dollar membership to the gym. I told the staff member I'm here temporarily because I'm currently looking for a place to live, not interested in any contracts or commitment. He said yeah yeah only one dollar have access to the gym and can leave at the end of the month. So I walk into the location to a kiosk, swipe my card, take a picture and get a key tag then leave. Fast forward to a month later I get a transaction on my cars from blink, call my financial institution chase they inform me whom the merchant was. I go to a blink location speak with the manager, inquire on why I'm being charge 30 days is over, says he has paperwork stating I signed a one year agreement and have to pay 60 dollars to break it. I tell him I never signed anything that's ridiculous, after a back and forth I go to the original location I swiped my card at. The person whom brought me in form outside is no longer employed, the manager on duty says the same thing "this what the paperwork says" I express again I didn't SIGN anything or agreed to that, this is fraud I'll contact my bank. Then she says " well just keep charging your card there's nothing you can do about it" Theft and stealing like this shouldn't go on. I'll be filing s lawsuit because I'm sure I'm not the only one this is happening to. When you're a civilian going against a million dollar company you stand no chance.

Hello,

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We looked into the matter and do see that this member signed up with Blink Fitness, selecting a Green membership class which includes a 1 year commitment period. Blue memberships also include a 1 year commitment. Grey memberships, which allow you access to only one facility, have no commitment.

We attempt to be as transparent as possible when it comes to our membership terms and conditions, in particular the 1 year commitment and the cancellation policy. We post this information in several different areas on both our kiosk and website. The 1 year commitment and 45 day notice is listed in the FAQ section of our website as well as in the details section under the selected membership class which appears on each page during the joining process. It is also listed in the terms and condtions section for which all members must check off stating they have read and agree to said conditions. Finally a copy of the signed agreement is emailed to the member immediately after joining along with a copy of their receipt of purchase.

With that said, we understand this member had no intention of selecting a 1 year commitment agreement. We apologize for their experience and have reached out to the member to recitfy the concern. We hope to find an amicable solution shortly.

In good health,

Blink Fitness
