I purchased a Torino Lamborghini mens watch from Bidz.com. According to the retail price, the listed retail price is $1600. When I bought it for only $105. I thought that I got a great deal. Once I received it (my package came on the promised date) I checked to see the quality. As I inspected it, I found that the clasp was very cheap. I searched all over to find the origin of manufacturing. To my dismay, there was nothing stamped, engraved, or written in the instructions as to where this watch was made. There was nothing on or in the box or anywhere else. As I continued to do some research, I called their 800 number. The person on the other line said that it was made in Switzerland, since it is a "Swiss Movement" watch. I corrected the associate and explained that that is only a description as to how the watch works.

I then looked up the company for the watch. I found a high quality website (seemingly) and felt better once I saw the retail prices. As I thought about it I realized that this site could just be a front. Bidz.com or the manufacturer itself could artificially set a ridiculously high price that would never sell anywhere and publish it so that it has an established retail price. To tell you the truth, I feel that the actual retail value is somewhere around $30.

Aren't there consumer protections laws that insist that the manufacturer states the origin of manufacturing?

I am waiting on the origin and will keep you updated!
