Complaint Review: BIDZ - BIDZ.COM - Los Angeles California

Here's a copy of the Chat I just had with a CSR at Bidz.com.  See if you can tell what's wrong with this conversation.  I am posting this simply as a matter of record for anyone that might want to do business with Bidz.com.  I neither advocate nor approve of doing business with them and in no way mean this to sway anyone's thinking one way or the other.  You decide for yourself if you want to do business with them.  In the end, I did not. The only changes I made below is I changed my username to "Me" so no one would know what my username is (was) on their site.  Here is the complete conversation I had with a fellow named Denzel.

(my initial note on the chat line)

Me: I get to the checkout counter and I am being charged shipping. I was offered free shipping if I pay today. What's the metter here? You are now speaking with Denzel of Bidz Customer Service .

Denzel: hello

Denzel: let me check

Me: hello, thanks

Me: also, I do see a place to enter a ship to address. ???

Me: Sorry, I do not see a place to enter a ship to adress different than my bill to. ????

Denzel: you have 5 items in amount of $99, but should be minimum $100 to apply for free shipping

Denzel: we ship orders to verified billing addresses only.

Me: The page where my items were said, if I paid for these items today, I would get free shipping

Denzel: unless you pay for this one also rvo_1233032 $330.00

Me: Here's what it says "Congratulations! You are Eligible for Free Shipping! Pay for the items below today to redeem Free Shipping."

Denzel: would you like to pay for this one rvo_1233032 $330.00 ?

Me: that other item is not "below" please look carefully at what I'm saying. I DO NOT want to pay for the 330.00 item. If I did, I would have included it in my ORDER.

Denzel: would you be so kind to check once again the message in your account ?

Denzel: I'm looking in your account very carefully !

Me: again, heres what my page says "Congratulations! You are Eligible for Free Shipping! Pay for the items below today to redeem Free Shipping.".....what's "below" is a list of other items other than the $330.00 one you mention

Denzel: please re-fresh the page

Denzel: and look once again

Denzel: right now you have this message: You are $1.00 dollars away to be eligible for free shipping Win any items on auction, accept Bidz Offers, purchase Buyz Items, or add additional services and meet the $100 minimum purchase to receive free shipping today!

Denzel: can you see it now ?

Me: No, that is not what I saw when I got there to that chackout page. It has been on that page in the way I described it for the last 4 - 6 hours. So, what changed it?

Denzel: free shipping would apply if you pay for this rvo_1233032 $330.00 as well, only then amount of your order would be over $100

Denzel: but right now you have merchandise in amount of $99

Me: you people are not reputable in my book now. I had a checkout page that offered me free shipping before you got involved. So, how am I supposed want to do business with you?

Me : that item for 330.00 was NOT BELOW the line that included the items I won and the message I copied to you referred to the items BELOW that line. BEFORE YOU CHANGED IT.

Denzel: but you could pay for it along with your winning bids

Me : HERE'S WHAT i FIRST SAW AGAIN, (COPIED DIRECTLY FROM YOUR PAGE - BEFORE YOU CHANGED IT) - "Congratulations! You are Eligible for Free Shipping! Pay for the items below today to redeem Free Shipping.

Denzel: that's why you saw the message

Me : I need to speak to your supervisor.

Denzel: one moment please

Me : I want that supervisor to call me

Me : gladly, and you can officially cancel my bids. And please know that it's because of YOU Denzel. I feel pretty certain that they log your chat sessions and I want to make it very clear that you understand that I, before today, in no way, did I have anything against Bidz - until I tried to deal with YOU. Now, I do not trust you or Bidz and will report you to whoever I can find including the FTC and any other reputable gaency that looks into your type of dealings. And, by the way, I have a copy of this logged as well. Me : If you want to ban me, that's o.k. too. In fact, I encourage you to because I will NEVER be back to your site again. Just so you know (in case it might make a difference) I have sold many, many items on (((competitor's name redacted))) for the past 8 - 9 years and I have never seen anything as underhanded as the way YOU treated me here tonight. I wish you well with your endeavors but I think it might be time for you to get some remedial training in customer service. Cheers and GOODBYE FOREVER. Denzel: I asked my supervisor and she can add this cross for only $1 so would have free shipping if you pay for all items

Denzel: I would calculate your total but I see your profile page is blank, it seems that you forgot to fill it in when registered, we have only your user name and e-mail address, but do not have your billing address

Me : I have been trying to do this on your site all afternoon. It keeps directing me to finish my order then i will have a chance to do that. That's where I stopped, when I saw I was being charged with shipping charges.

Me : You know, it's kinda funny, you can see all the items that I 'won" but you can't figure up what my final cost would be. to me, it would be the total of the items, $99.00.

Denzel: there is also %3 transaction fee and New York and California residents have to pay state taxes

Denzel: we didn't mean to add you another cross, but just to add $1 to your total for instance on item a_37541007, we can add it to your account for $34 and not $33 and such a case you will be eligible for free shipping

Denzel: you will save $22.95 in comparison to $1

Me : I don't follow your funny math........please tell me what the final total is for the items I won. No tax, no shipping charges. Seems to me it ought to be $99.00 + 3% transaction fee. Denzel: it would be $100 plus %3 transaction fee Me: Forget it dude.  You guys are amazing - and over $1.00!  Let's just agree to disagree.  Forget I ever existed on your site.  But be aware.  I will be very, very sure to tell everyone I know to steer clear of you guys.  Also, be aware that I was about to buy the necklace that costs $330.00 along with 4 other items totalling about $800.00 tomorrow using the Bill Me later function.  Oh well, your loss.  Good day. sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
