Best Buy ripped off and burned
My wife & I were burned by Best Buy,where we purchased a Compaq desktop computer last year (Sept.20th,2001). We were told by the salesman to be sure to purchase the extended warranty(1 Year).
because if they could not fix any problems we had with the PCU at that location they would replace it on the spot.(what a joke)the computer turned out to be a lemon had lots of problems first the keyboard, then the printer went out they did replace these.
But when the modem went out I was told to pack it up & send it to Compaq.(6-8 weeks to get it back)So I called Compaq & told them & they sent me a modem w/I had to install myself even though it was still under warranty.
I also told them of the other problems (noisy CD Rom Drive & Sound problems) w/were never fixed.Now my warranty has expired & the extended warranty is still not worth the paper its printed on.What makes me mad is that everytime I tryed to get it fixed I was told to pack it up & send it to Compaq. (they have an instore service dept.) I would of never purchased it from them if it wasn't for the service.
What really takes the cake is before writing this to you I had just gotten off the phone w/Best Buy main office & was told that they never sold me a policy. Just thought others should know how they treat their valued customers.
