Ripoff Report Verified REVIEW:

EDitors UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to APX Alarm for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Ripoff Reports discussions with the company have uncovered an ongoing commitment to total customer satisfaction. You can expect to have any questions or concerns that you have with them to be answered and resolved in a timely manner. They have shown us their customer service process, and it reflects a desire to serve customers, as well as fix problems.

The company's management specifically told us about how their job is to simplify lives and help people to live intelligently. The management really wants every person who buys a system to feel valued. The concern for each customer's experience starts at the top, and is reflected in the action of every employee they hire.

The company also works to monitor their sales and customer support calls to see how they can be improved. They use these calls as examples for employees in training. Currently, Vivint is working to make changes to their contracts to make things easier for their customers as they have found that many of their complaints stem from feeling misled or customers paid fees they did not feel they authorized.

NOW TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED

----------------------------------- APX Alarm BEWARE of this company Provo Utah

Like a majority of the complaints on here, I too was rooked into getting an alarm system by APX Alarm out of Utah back in June 2006. I too, was approached by two, clean cut Mormon college students who gave me the line of they've been installing alarm systems in my neighborhood all day and they could offer me this and that if I decided to do the installation today.

They pulled out an application and started asking me for my social security number and personal information and credit card number that the monthly payment could be charged to. Other than a T-Shirt that said APX Alarm, I didn't know if these guys were from a reputable company! guess I learned my lesson to say NO first then check into companys like this prior to signing my soul away.

The installation was a rush rush deal, shottily done, the kid rambled off some instructions on how to use the alarm, left me a paper and that's the last I heard from APX Alarm.until recently.

My credit card that was attached to my checking account quit working and I was issued a new card. My payment typically comes out between the 21st and 24th of the month. I didn't put two and two together until they called on the 26th of November about a billing issue. I then realized I had used that other credit card for the payment and needed to give them the new card number.

A couple days later I received another phone call on 11/29 on my cell phone by an APX representative, I told him I knew what he was calling for and gave him the new card number for Novembers payment, he asked me if I wanted to go ahead and pay December's payment as well and I said, NO, it isn't due until later in the month, he said okay.

Low and behold I'm looking at my banking information on line and see that they debited my card on 12/3 $39.99 and again on 12/5 for another $39.99, I proceeded to call them and give them a piece of my mind for doing exactly what I told them NOT to do.

The girl I got on the phone was rude and basically told me she could not discuss the account with me because it was not in my name, I told her you have my credit card on file, I pay the bill and I was good enough to talk to the other day when the guy hit me up to pay the bill, she refused to talk to me, so I had my husband call.

The next day, after going home and re-reading our contract, my husband called. After nearly 40 minutes on the phone and being transferred around, the representative told my husband that because our bank kicked back the charge in November our contract we signed with our due date was VOID and they made our payment due date the 1st of the month now, without notifying us or anything. They refused to credit our account back the $39.99 that they fraudulently helped themselves to out of our account. The representative begrudgingly agreed to move the due date back to its original date, now I guess I'll be watching my account closely around the 21-24th of this month to see if they take another $39.99 out.

APX has horrible customer service, they are rude and not helpful at all, and they are argumentative. They spoke to my husband like he was an idiot, when he finally had enough of their unprofessional attitude and demeaning treatment, he just hung up on the girl. This company is VERY lucky they are in Utah and not anywhere near California, or I would be on their front door step.

This company gives poor customer service and treats customers horribly because they CAN! A majority of their customers are in other states and basically once you sign their agreement they have you by the you know whats! You cancel, they turn you in to collections, you fulfill the contract you still are obligated to use them to provide monitoring service or just be out the money paid for the system, yank it out and opt to go with a reputable alarm company. Any way you look at it, they win.
