Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I like many other honest people have been screwed. Apex Technology Consultants screwed me and others. This company that is suppose to be based in Tennesse. 475 metroplex dr, nashville, ten 37211, but it's just a National Scam.

There was an ad in the Chicago Tribune about a great job for internet consultants with no experience needed and pay $20.00. I went to an interview where 30 people set for at least an hour or more and listen to a man talk fast and about nothing. He made it sound good. ITS NOT.

Apex Technology Consultants, claims to hire people through independent contract. If hired you have to pay them $400 dollars for equipment. They claim they don't pay your taxes or provide insurance that's how they can pay so well.

We were told that the company started in Nashville,TN a few years ago and also has an office in Atlanta. The con-artist who called hisself the district manager, claimed that the office in schaumberg,il was being built, and this is why the interview and trainging will be in a holiday inn. The office was suppose to open in April it's April and no office.

The self proclamined district manager, also said we would be professionally trained. The training consisted of him talking for 10 hours about himself and the lies of the company that him and his partners came up with, and 20 mintues on the job.

Apex, also makes you sign a contract that they had printed up from somewhere like kinkos. Dont sign it.

The job in detail require for us to sale products such as MSN TV (WEBTV) and ICEBOX.(SECURITY SYSTEMS,HOME ENTERTAINMENT ALL IN ONE). Except these companies have no knowlege of APEX or them selling there products.

You can buy equipment for MSNTV at circut city or best buy for under 100 dollars, but APEX TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANTS are selling it for $149 dollars plus shipping and handling which brings the total to over $200 dollars

The RIP-OFF ARTIST said that we would get paid every week no matter if we sold or not. After the second night he explained to us that We have to sell in order to get paid if we dont sell we only got paid at the end of the month, providing that we finish 80 consultantions, and they had different rules and if you broke them you did not get paid

They wanted you to email them twice a week, but they did not have an active email address, they wanted you to attend meeting every monday, but would change the time and act like it's always been that time. You had to have a meeting with one of them after every ten consultations you did and could not continue but they where always busy for 3-5 days in advance.

They made it hard to get the 80 within the time frame

We where suppose to get 20 friends or family to practice our presentation on. Then go out and sell the products, within 15-30 mile radius by referal only. What the scam artist didnt mention is that the referals had to come from the 20 people you practice on.

I really got suspious when at the first meeting for trainging, they clamied we had to leave the hotel, because the management there claimed someone had stole a car in the parking lot, and was blaming us.

After going to the second hotel I started to do some research myself. Apex Technology Consultants does not have a website for 1, the MAIN OFFICE number no one answers when you call, in TN. The number thats on the card for the main office is NOT LISTED under Apex Technology Consultants but under a company by the name of S&S CORP.

APEX is a widley used name from cleaning companies to law firms, which makes it hard to sift through all those pages that pop up when you type it in. S&S CORP is also a widely spread name, there was over 400 pages of S&S when i looked it up on YAHOO.COM This was well thought out by these con artist but not well enough.

When I looked up the address for the main office, It was registed to several diffrent companies. The suite that the office was suppose to be in was rented by Aegis Security. There was no APEX found in that building. After digging deeper, the same suite that APEX was suppose to be in several different companies were in the same suite, and had the same phone #.

I have reported them to the FBI, and also I am reporting them to the Attorney Generals office. If you know of any one that is working for them let them know. If you know anyone who has bought goods from them let them know, these people are well organized and have planned this scam out, IT IS MISLEADING AND A COMPLETE SCAM. DONT TRUST APEX TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANTS

I lost my money to them, but I will get it back, but the most important things is that I stop them from taking anyone else's money. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

Apex Technology Consultants Lied to Me and Operated in Violation of the Federal Law.

#2Consumer Comment

Sun, July 06, 2003

I would like to join Kizzy from Chicago in expressing my complete dissatisfaction in dealing with Apex Technology Consultants aka Chicago Technology Solutions. The so-called company district manager, who identified himself as Andrew Mischke, lied to me and operated in violation of the federal law. While I pulled out earlier than did Kizzy, I am not at all surprised that Kizzy found the whole opportunity to be a scam -- in fact, I was expecting it. Like Kizzy, I found an ad in a local newspaper for an Internet consultant position. I went to the interview, where Mr. Mischke made the position sound extremely desirable and competitive, by claiming that out of the 12 people at the interview, only 3 or 4 at most would be selected for work. This was in fact the case, except that half the people left on their own when they found out what the job involved and "smelled" that this may be a scam. I should have done the same, but at the time I was taken in by all the rhetoric and sales pitch that Mr. Mischke presented. Therefore, I signed up and put down a $70 fee for the training/certification course. I was supposed to do training a few days later and, at that time, I was supposed to put down an additional $327 "deposit," which, as the contract stated, would only be refundable at Apex's "sole discretion," and in reality would probably never be refunded. However, before the training began, I was lucky enough to realize that the whole opportunity is a scam and was able to pull out in time. The major factor that made me so realize was Mr. Mischke lying to me about Apex having a website. After I got home from the interview, I wanted to find out more information about the company, since the contract and the welcome letter that I was given did not even have a company address or any other identifying information. Yet, to my surprise, I was not able to find a single piece of information about Apex on the web. I was especially surprised since the welcome letter stated that Apex's training program is "one of the best in the industry and is nationally acclaimed." When I called Mr. Mischke to ask for the website, he stated that the website was being updated, but upon my insistence gave me the address (www.apextechnologyconsultants.com). Yet, when I typed in the address, I found out that no such site even existed. If it were being updated, it would have had a message saying so. Therefore, Mr. Mischke outright lied to me about the company having a website. Also, shortly after this incident, I discovered that Apex is operating in violation of the U.S. federal law. The contract that I signed was supposed to have a three-day cooling off period provision, during which I could cancel for a full refund. Yet, no such provision existed, and in fact to the contrary the contract stated that my failure to attend the training makes my $70 non-refundable without exceptions. Mr. Mischke was required to include the provision because of the Federal Trade Commission's 3-day Cooling Off Rule. In summary, the Rule applies to sales of goods or services primarily intended for personal, family or household purposes. It applies when, among other locations, the sale is made at facilities rented by the seller on a temporary or short-term basis, and when the sale is over $25. The Rule applies here because the sale was made at a hotel rented out by Apex and was for $70. Moreover, FTC's website specifically states that the Rule applies to courses of instruction or training. According to the Rule, the seller must explain to consumer his cancellation right at the time of sale, include a cancellation provision in the contract or receipt (either of which should show the address of the seller), and give consumer two copies of the cancellation form. Yet, Mr. Mischke did none of the above. (The Rule's full name is Rule Concerning Cooling-Off Period for Sales Made at Homes or at Certain Other Locations (cited as 16 CFR Part 429); for a detailed explanation of the Rule, please go to www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buying/cooling.htm) I must also point out that on a personal level I found Mr. Mischke to be manipulating and dishonest. When I called to tell him that I was not going to come to the training, he started attacking me and calling me a liar, when in fact he is the one who lied to me about the company having a website. His strategy was to make me feel bad and make himself look like a good guy. However, that did not work. Also, when my credit card company called him and asked him to refund the $70 back to my account, he stated that he would do so except that I filed consumer complaints against his company. Again, he tried to portray himself as an angel and me as a devil. In fact, however, I filed the complaints against Apex only AFTER I sent Mr. Mischke a letter and called him again specifically asking for a refund of my money, but he continually refused to refund it. Therefore, please do not deal with or buy products from Apex Technology Consultants or from Andrew Mischke. The whole opportunity is a scam. The individual who provides a rebuttal to Kizzy's complaint, claiming to be an employee with inside information, is far less than convincing. First, I strongly suspect that the rebuttal was written by Mr. Mischke himself, or by his partner, Zebal Siddiqi, posing as an independent contractor, because it uses the same language as is used by Mr. Mischke in his sales pitches. Second, the rebuttal merely makes some general, unsubstantiated statements about Apex, but does not address the tough issues that Kizzy brings up in her complaint. Such as, why does Apex have no website? Why is their suite in Tennessee, where the company headquarters is supposed to be located, rented out by some other companies? And why does Apex keep moving from hotel to hotel? (Kizzy indicated that her interview was held at the Holiday Inn, my interview was held at the Homewood Suites, and I know that afterwards Apex moved to yet a third hotel -- Wingate Inn.) Is it because Apex is kicked out by the management of each hotel when the management finds out the kind of people it is dealing with? Is it because Apex wants to cover its tracks? Also, the individual who wrote the rebuttal stated that "no one is forced to pay the deposit, and it is not required to work for the company." Yet, this is another lie because the contract specifically states that one has to pay a $327 deposit on the first night of training, and I was never told that I could get the supplies and materials from someone else. My whole purpose in writing this comment was to expose the scam that Apex is, and to warn other people against dealing with them. I have already filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the Illinois Attorney General, and the Better Business Bureau, and I encourage anyone who has been scammed by Apex to do the same. If you are thinking about doing business with the company, either as an independent contractor or as a customer, please stay away!

Unlike other companies that make you buy inventory to work there

I am writing in response to a letter that was posted on this site in regard for a company that I am an independent contractor with as well. I have been working with the company for about 5 months and am quite familiar with "Kizzy from Chicago" who posted a letter on the website. Many companies in the IT/Technology field work with independent contractors. In other words, a person works as per qualified contract. With this specific position as an internet consultant, one is signed on for 80 consultations. At the completion of the contract, they are allowed to sign a subsequent contract. Unlike other companies that make you buy inventory to work there (which is not bad but could be costly at times), Apex requires a deposit to be put down for equipment ordered for the independent contractor. The great thing about it is that you get your deposit money back at the completion of the contract. The system is designed for honest people. If they didn't require a deposit for the equipment, out of procrastination some people might steal the equipment. It is set up as a safe guard for the company. Every company, big or small, needs measures to protect them. I should reiterate the proper and correct procedures of Apex. First of all, no experience is necessary and independent contractors ARE paid at a rate of $20+/hr - which is guaranteed in writing. Applicants are told several times that the job is as financially rewarding as it is because it is quite difficult. After going through an extensive interview process, which thoroughly describes the position and the expectations of the company, only do a few get selected to speak with a manager and/or the district manager. After talking with this applicant one on one, then a decision is made from Apex Management to hire or not to hire the applicant. No one is forced to pay the deposit, and it is not required to work for the company. I once again should stress that it is not required to work for the company. Independent contractors may get their equipment from one of our competitors or just any place in general that sells the product that we work with - that the independent contractor will be working with as well. It's not possible to do the job without the equipment. The biggest reason that Apex charges more for their products in comparison to some of their competitors is because of their service. Unlike some of their competitors who solely offer you the product, Apex offers each client with a personal internet consultant who not only delivers the product to their door, but installs, programs and customizes the product for their needs. In addition, the client receives life-time customer support for free. I don't think there is any need for me to go on and on about the company. However, I did feel a need to defend the company that I work for. I am one of hundreds of people who have had a positive and rewarding career with Apex. Unfortunately, no matter how great any company might be, there will always be someone who is negative about it. If anyone wants correct information about the company, please call: 847-508-2739. Wish everyone the best of luck and make it a great day!
