We brought our dog to Dr. Anasara for treatment of a possible spider bite. The Dr. examined the dog and saw no obvious signs of trauma or puncture wounds. We gave the Dr. a detailed description of the dog immediate behavior. The Dr. gave the dog "sugar pills" or in other words, useless medications. We were told to go home and observe the dog. This was on Saturday March 6, 2010. We brought the dog back the following Monday, 3-8-10 and complained that he was not responding or getting any better. Again we where told to monitor the dog.

Subsequently, we brought the dog back on Wednesday, 3-10-10 and left the dog for the day to be treated and observed. Apparently some 3rd grade Jr. Dr failed to respond to 3 telephone calls from us checking on the dogs welfare. We finally forced the matter and insisted the Dr. come to the phone. Essentially we got a snot mouthed remark about how "busy she was and the hospital being short staffed."

I immediately drove to the hospital and complained that the wounds were "getting worse." We were told they preformed X Rays and blood work but fond no issues. We were told that the wound might turn septic and to prevent the dog from licking it.

Because of the worsening condition we brought the dog back on Friday, 3-5-10 and insisted that additional medical care be administered. Dr. Anasara said to "irrigate the wound with Hydrogen Peroxide and dress it. After an uncomfortable night the dogs leg continued to bleed and become necrotic.

Saturday morning I took the dog to the vet again this time with a warning that something needed to be done NOW! Until the Dr. saw me "cinch up" and about to use him for a door mat then and only then did he suggest I bring the dog to the Coral Springs Animal Hospital.

Dr. Anasara telephoned the Emergency On call Dr. and indicated I was coming in with the dog. The Emergency Animal Hospital Dr. was aghast at the condition of the dog. Our dog was admitted in critical condition.

Had it not been for wonderful treatment by the Coral Springs Animal Hospital at the precise moment, our dog would have surly suffered a slow painful death.

A warning to all, never bring your pet to Animal Hospital of University Drive in Sunrise Florida.
