Great answer to your problem. Continue hiring people left and right like nothing is wrong... inform them at your training class that the lawsuits will have no effect on how the business is run. Then lay off everyone 4 months later right before the holidays. Many of us left decent jobs in pursuit of what we were told was a great opportunity. We were told that Ameriquest was trying hard to rebuild it's reputation and going forward 'do the right thing' was the motto. So instead of doing the right thing you lay off thousands of people to keep your profits high. Poor lending choices and mistakes made by people before us caused the $350 million lawsuit you are settling on. Why in the hell would you make our lives miserable for this? I wasn't part of the deceptive practices, I didn't do loans that put people in horrific financial situations. I worked hard and did my very best to ensure I was 'doing the right thing'. I had happy customers that appreciated what I did for them and made a decent living doing it. In return I get a 4 week base pay severance and a kick in the nuts right before Thanksgiving. Nice. Dear Roland, I hope you enjoy your $70 million vacation home and this Thanksgiving be thankful I'm not in your neighborhood. People before profits, reputation before revenue. Figure it out ***holes. Quit lining your pockets at the expense of the average American family. It won't take long for people to see through the facade you put up... sponsor of the American Dream my a*s. Good luck with your next $350 million lawsuit, I'm sure you'll get many.

How could you expect anything less than to be screwed over by this company? They don't care about their customers, why would they care about their employees? I am sorry that you lost your job, but hope that you learn not to work for shady companies like Ameriquest, even if they claim to be trying to fix their reputation. Ameriquest can't fix their reputation, they've worked so hard to get it. Best of luck to you in your job search.

Stefan, you really need to grow up. Everybody has been canned from a job, and it happens at the holidays. You probably screwed over hundreds of misinformed, vulnerable people with poor credit and now YOU'RE complaining about getting screwed? Give me a F*ing break. I'm sure that your skill set from Ameriquest can easily transfer to a position as a car salesman running spot-delivery scams or possibly even selling vinyl siding door-to-door in low income neighborhoods. So don't give up hope. But on the other hand you probably should give up hope. No one will hire you because you'll either have to list Ameriquest on your resume or leave that time period blank. The latter is probably the better choice. You may never have legal, gainful employment again! Well, hopefully the homeless shelter in your areas puts on a good holiday feast. And here's a tip: you'll want to get a triple wall refrigerator box to live in, it will protect you from the elements best. BWAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

You were with them a whole four months. They gave you another month's pay as severance. Good deal. I know people, myself included, who worked for a company for several years, just to be told too bad-so sad when let go. The owner sold the company and kicked us to the curb. This is the reason I will never work for anyone else again.

#6UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sun, November 20, 2005

Thanks for your response, but I wasn't the one responsible for your situation nor did I stoop to the level of some of the employees you have categorized me with. I can't tell you how many times I turned people away from doing a loan because it wasn't the right move for them. I'm sorry Ameriquest hurt you. I heard about some of the things the company has done but the majority of them I heard after I had been hired. Instead of assuming I am of such low moral character that I was involved with that crap I'd appreciate it if you'd understand that I was duped just like you were. I was told when Ameriquest hired me that they were trying to start fresh. They were up front about their lawsuit and said they just wanted to put it behind them and focus on 'doing the right thing'. I was attracted to the opportunity of helping the company make a turnaround and eventually playing a major role in reversing much of the public distrust. It seems much of the mortgage industry is faced with this. Some companies more than others. My employment spanned a whopping 4 months. During that time I did close a few loans. All of which the borrowers were very happy with and none of which could be construed as taking advantage of them. My background is not in sales...I've never considered myself a very good salesman anyway. My experience came from management, some of which was spent in the mortgage industry with other companies. Again, I'm sorry Ameriquest hurt you. I'm just another American trying to support his family. Direct your anger where it is deserved...the company that took advantage of you.
