Amerigas Propane I believe they are price gouging. At $4.60/ gallon for propane, that's ridiculous. Stroudsburg Pennsylvania
How can they charge such high prices when the state average is less than $3.00/gallon? When you call them, you get a rude representative who just gives you a runaround. And, they charge $88 to change to another company! They also give you 20 days to pay or get charged a $22 fee. They also deliver whether you need it or not. "A forecast" answer. I was told they would drop the price from $4.60 to $4.05. Big deal! I've checked with many other suppliers and the highest was $2.84. If they fall under the PUC, I'll be contacting the PUC. Otherwise, I might write, or call, the PA Attorney General's office.
I'm afraid they will retaliate and disconnect my service without my permission.
Also, every time I call them, they tell me that no one has made any entries in their computer system that I called. How convenient. I have names, dates, and times that I called. They also promised me that if I change providers that I would get the price of $4.60/gallon back for what I didn't use. Problem is, they took over Penn Fuel and I didn't pay as much for them. Will they only refund the price of the 47.1 gallons that they put in, at $4.60? At what price will they refund the remaining propane?
There have been many, and I do mean many, people in this complex who had Penn Fuel before and are now switching because of the exhorbanent price Amerigas is charging. When I informed Amerigas, they seemed not to care. After all, we are just a few of the customers they have. Fools!
Someone has got to do something.
