Americredit ripoff long history of deceit, still in the business of lies Phoenix Arizona
AmeriCredit has a long history of deceipt. If you look back at when they where Urcarco in the 1990's (before they changed their name to "clean their slate" so-to-speak) they were in the business of gouging their customers with hidden charges and overinflated extras.
Then once under investigation one employee stated under oath that his supervisor told him to "do whatever it takes to get them financed" knowing they could use the technique called "churning" to get their property back and turn it into another repossesion case. Once this started happening their repossesion rates climbed to 50%.
Now Americredit is still in the business of lies. One employee also stated that they would work along with the car finance division to create phony contracts and paystubs copies with fax machines, scissors and photocopies to inflate the income record so that person would get financed. Americredit went as far as to say "we can't except this" not do to the information but due to the copy quality of the faked records.
My own take on all this is that not all finance co. are evil, but when corporate america (america with a small a) tries to use the debts of others for their own growth and profit at the expense of people's lives. This Is Wrong! Next time another Americredit person calls ask them if they know their co. past.
