Here is a copy of the email I sent to the company:

I am sure you receive these type of comments everyday because I have yet to hear of an individual that was satisfied with your home warranty service.

However, I would like to let you know that I too am very disappointed and frustrated with the service (or should I say lack thereof) that you provide. I am not going to go into my particular issue because I have already had the displeasure of dealing with your Customer Service Novices.

At my place of employment I have just happened to run into 4 individuals on my floor that have had very unpleasant experiences with your home warranty service as well. Also, I did some research and have found an untold number of websites devoted to American Home Shield Complaints.

Feel free to email me regarding a longer list of websites and consumer advocate groups that have had the same results as I when dealing with your company.

My Ripoff Report:

I would also like to say that this company is very difficult to deal with and is, without a doubt, not looking out for the consumer in any way. I asked for a refund of my service fee b/c of the poor service I recieved.

However, after being transferred to 4 different people I was told that I would have to submit my request in writing b/c their Customer Relations area apparently doesn't have a phone number. Can you believe it?

This company operates in the year 2003, but has no phones. You have to snail mail the request to them. Again, this is just another ploy to make things a difficult as possible for the consumer. They basically will keep fighting with you, the customer, until they get the way. What ever happened to "The Customer is always RIGHT." I have also learned that they will tell you they have conveniently lost your items (checks, etc.) when you have problems.

One last note, please do not believe the "Rebuttals" posted by [email protected]. She is the head of the Customer Relations department who apparently doesn't have a phone number either b/c she will only leave an email address (makes it easier for her to scan the message first).

Please take these comments into consideration when buying a warranty from them.
