Even on debit cards often you have the right to dispute a charge just like a credit card within a certian period after it appears on your statement. Get with your bank and see if you are eligable to dispute this. If you are they will reverse the charges. You'll have to provide your side and they'll have to prove they have delivered the order in full undamaged otherwise the charges will remain reversed. Don't wait to check this out - time is your enemy on this avenue as it is generally 30 to 60 days depending on the cards policy. Again, my opinion on what I'd do in your situation.

This is terrible and sounds like their standard mode of operation - ignore, ignore, ignore until they wear you down and you just give up. I wouldn't let them get away with it. I'd take pictures of everything, document my conversations with them, dates, names, their actions, etc. Have my friend write down what he saw, heard them say, etc. If it were me I'd file against them in small claims court. You don't need a lawyer, and it should be a miminal court fee, that they'll end up paying. Basically you tell your story, show your documentation, show your pictures, and they tell theirs - they don't have a leg to stand on "if" your story is accurate and ther are no store policies either posted in the store or on your paperwork that limits your rights. Make sure to take your friend to say what he directly saw and heard. When they are served with the papers they'll probably fold like a lawn chair and make you a reasonable settlement instead of going to court as they know they will lose. Don't accept less than what will make it right with you as if they won't do it then the judge will make them. I think they ""count"" on you just to give up and go away - so I wouldn't let them win their game. I think they don't ""count"" on people taking them to court and the very few that do, and I bet a few do, they probably deal with them. Also, mattress manufacturers have warranties on their mattresses - contact them about the issue you are having - they should stand behind that issue. If they jerk you around about it being dirty, torn, etc tell them THEIR DEALER did that and THEY both profited on the sale and THEY can work that out between them. I'm not sure why the dealer did not refer you to the manufacturer in the first place on the mattress unless they are selling seconds that have no warranty - at any rate $1500 for a mattress is a ripoff in itself - mattresses are heavily discounted from list price. I wish you the best of luck and feel your frustration and hope to see you report back that they didn't get away with it. This is all my opinion and what I would do in the situation you described.

I called John today and he told me that he wouldn't be getting in any king size head boards for my bedroom suit so he offered me 100 dollars off a 2100.00 bedroom suit I bought plus the other nightstand has the wood coming off of it so that was total offer for both of them. Whatever! Then he offered me 30% off but seen it would mean that he would be giving me back $650.00 so then he changed his mind again by saying he would replace the nightstand and give me $150.00; which is still not right. The mattress is I guess just a 1549.99 lost plus taxes for me. They damaged it really bad and brought it back to me instead of exchanging it or giving my money back. The protection that I paid for will not cover all that to be cleaned. So I am screwed out of the money. And for your record Jay, nothing has been done since I wrote this complaint about your company, no phone calls, no updates, or anything.

Here at American Freight we strive to please and accommodate our customers to the best of our ability. We receive all merchandise packaged and shipped directly from the manufacturer. In the event where a shipment is delivered to your home with some kind of damage or defect to the product we replace the merchandise as quickly as possible. There are times when we must wait for another shipment in order to replace the merchandise in question. In situations like this one it may take several weeks to receive our shipment from the manufacturer. This situation is certainly regrettable, and I offer an apology to those affected by it. It is our understanding that this problem has been effectively resolved. Please contact the Regional Manager if the problem persists.
