Buyer Beware: This company has changed names 3 times in 3 years do to numerous claims of fraud, poor workmanship, taking deposits and not delivering pools, and much more. Previous names include Kustom Container Builders and Swiss Coast Pools. Kurt Wittin (also uses Witton, Witten) has a long history of fraud claims.
I bought a pool from Kurt Wittin 3 years ago and have had nothing but major issues. The first pool was deemed as "structurally unsound and unsafe" by a local engineer and it did not come with major components (such as a sand filter). After fighting with Kurt for a year, he finally replaced it with a different pool that had severe liner failure 3 days after we got it and the plumbing was completely messed up.
That has cost us over $16,000 on top of what we paid to buy the original pool. Both pools were missing several items that anyone with basic knowledge of pools should have included. Our local pool company said, "whoever did this pool is incompetent" and then instructed me how to fix all of Kurt's mistakes. My whole story can be found at seventeenpools.info . As of this review, Kurt Wittin still owes us thousands of dollars and won't return any phone calls.
Folks, this is well beyond a small business owner who got in over his head. Over the last 2 years, I have connected with over 3 dozen of Kurt Wittins victims and all have similar stories, many are far worse than ours. There are numerous people who have paid massive deposits or the whole pool in full and not received a pool.
Others received highly defective pools. It is completely evident to me that he knows very little about the products he is selling or the engineering behind them. My only purpose with this review is to warn the public not to send him any money because I am tired of his victims contacting me after it's too late and they have a second mortgage on their house or HELOC loan with nothing to show for it.
Shipping container pools done right are amazing, but if you buy from this individual, you have a 99.99% chance of having massive regrets and/or losing thousands of dollars.
