Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Recently I had work done to my Bentley at Braman Motors Miami. I had to return to correct work that was previously done incorrectly on my car. While waiting, I was approached by service technician, John Crews to inform me the technician had discovered an issue with my struts and recommended I replace and the cost would be $15k. Shockingly, I questioned the amount and told Crews to request a reduction with estimate. First he refused and said management would not approve but since I insisted, he eventually returned with a quote of $11k. Not surprisingly I refused and said I would seek another quote elsewhere and Crews became irritated and loud and went on to discredit any dealer or shop stating they would put secondhand parts and not Bentley parts and eventually I would return. Since I have several high end automobiles and have other service technicians I knew this was false. I later received a quote from another company and cost was $5k, saving me over $10k. What I later discovered, Bentley service technicians get paid a commission on all work done at company. Furthermore, I felt his behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. While I was there, I asked him to check previous records about work I’d done earlier and he refused and starting yelling. At that point, the manager which was a few desk away, stepped and told Crews to leave and he would accommodate my request which he did without any issues. crews continued to yell and disrespect me in front of manager. I demanded Crews be fired immediately due to his appallingly nasty behavior. Not only did manager witness Crews behavior but everyone in the shop heard him screaming at me. Manager said he would report to GM and return a call later. GM called later and said he would not be terminating Crews and what was more appalling he stated " ALL” dealers uses the same sleazy dishonest service tactics to overcharge customers therefore nothing will be done. I was shocked at the brazen pompous attitude by upper management and was not satisfied since I patronize Braman Motors multiple times and was not going to accept this behavior. Therefore I contacted owner Norman Braman to get his opinion and his legal team later called and said they would not be making changes. Norman Braman was too coward to address my serious concerns and I guess since Braman is making billions from ripping off loyal customers, my complaint does not warrant his attention. After further investigations, I come to realize I am not alone with similar complaints. In conclusion, I would WARN ANYONE that chooses to patronize any Braman stores for service to be very careful and ask questions about any service work because you are being RIPPED OFF with overinflated quotes to put money in their service technicians pockets. Their motivation is greed and not taking care their customers. I will never use this company again.

ADDENDUM-The Plain Truth About The FAKE FEE Con-Game

#2Consumer Comment

At first, it may appear the FAKE FEE Con-Game is just simply adding them to the price of a car. However, the concept goes much deeper and is much more insidious than what meets the eye as it is a deeper scam than what it appears on the surface. The dealer advertises and MISREPRESENTS the price of a car LOWER than what they actually want. All thru the sales and finance process they tell you verbally and in state in documents what they allege is the price of the car. You cannot buy the car unless you pay the BOGUS, ADD-ON, PHONY FEES. All the money from these PHONY FEES goes to the dealer (as opposed to tax and official transfer fees, the portion of which is the real transfer fee instead of the "pad" added on by the dealer.) Therefore by simple observation, the PHONY FEE revenue which goes to the dealer is part of the price of the car and is used to make up for the much lower misrepresented price they stated. Since they are very clearly involved in MISREPRESENTATION, in other words promulgating a falsehood, a common legal concept comes into play which is "Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus" which means if they are lying about one point, you cannot trust them...PERIOD! Spread the word about what your experience has been and about what you've learned here today. There's no reason you or anyone else needs to be mistreated by any car dealer nor is there any recourse other than walking out, spreading the word and never, ever returning and to advise your family and friends to not reward a dealer for DEFRAUDNG the customer..

FRAUD and DECEPTION is an acknowledged way of life in the Sleazy American Car Business. The FRAUD and DECEPTION which used to be confined to the sales floor and finance office, in many examples of the dealership sleeze, has now flown into the "shop" like raw sewage on a downhill street. The dead giveaway is when a dealership adds FAKE FEES to a sale. They give these PURELY FAKE FEES official sounding names because they think the public is TOO STUPID to figure it out. The usual names are: Dealer Fee, Processing Fee, Electronic Filing Fee, Documentation Fee, Advertising Adjustment. They also come in the form of "Emissions Testing Fee" and said testing is NOT...repeat...NOT required in Florida! They also are in the form of "Dealer Installed Accessories" whether you want them or not and the great big CON-GAME of nitrogen in your tires. Any dealership which adds these FAKE FEES is telling you they are nothing more than sleazy slimeballs and therefore NOTHING should be trusted there. In the shop,The slimeballs will usually have you waiting for service and then the con-man or con-woman comes out with a very serious look telling you how lucky you are to be there today because they just found a problem which will result in your immediate death if you drive away and it just so happens the repair carries a huge, price gouging amount. Never, ever, ever, ever, get non-warranty repairs or maintenance done at a dealership. What you get is PRICE GOUGING, poor customer service and the people working on your car are nothing more than commissioned parts changers and not real, skilled mechanics. Look around and ask around for a good, dependable independent shop. This is not going to be Walmart or Pep Boys. A good independent shop is usually owned by a very experienced older mechanic and employs very experienced real mechanics. You WILL get better prices and better customer service than any sleazy car dealership will ever provide. This is what the Sleazy American Car Business has come to. Walk thru their doors and you'll need a gas mask due to the stench of their slime as they choke on the smell of their own deception.
