Car Dealer Rip Off in Buffalo MO
Hello....I live in Buffalo Mo. I purchased a 1977 Chevy Shortbed pick-up on Janurary 3, 2000. The dealer is Zig Zag Motors owner is Sue Swagnigen. I have had nothing but problems with this truck since I brought it home. Here is a run down up to date. Jan 4th, the next day, it would not start. The next day the oil pan gasket broke and the vacum from the transmission came off. At the same time I noticed it was leaking power sterring fluid. Brought back to her again, she did repair the vacum and gasket. Told me to get a stop leak for power steering, it wasn't that bad (her opinion) Truck ran for 2 days, and broke down again, needs a new starter, which she said she could not afford to get, so I paid for a new starter. Again Truck ran for 2 days, wouldn't start again.....needs a carbartor, she fixed this. Since that time the truck has ran for the most maybe a week at a time, before something else has broke. I have complained numerous times to her, asked for my money back which she said she would not do, but she would take the truck back. I have put to much money into this truck to just give it back. The truck now is broke down with a frozen up engine. After talking with some friends at work I have found out this women is notorious for this kind of thing, and has ripped off half the people here in town. I complained to our County DA about this, she told me to file a report with the Sherriff, they would not take the complaint, said she has been doing this for years, and it's not against the law to sell bad cars, it's a civil action. So I tried to get an attorney, she has retainers at all the attorneys here in town(it's a small town) so there is a conflict. No one here will go up against her, like she has some kind of something over everyone who could stop this.
Is there anything that you could do to help me. I have only had the truck for 3 months and now it needs a new motor. This is her scam, sell bad cars, fix them so they run a couple months, then they brake people get fed up, say to hell with it, and give her back the car, then she does the same thing again, with the same car and so on and so on. I would like to see her stop, but everyone around here will not help me. I know alot of other people she has done this to, and they would like to she her stopped also.
