Yorks Automotive Repair, Jack York Owner Replaced u joints in our car. Car then had bad vibration from 40 mph and up. Called To tell him problem and he became defensive. People of Deland BEWARE!!! Deland Florida
He said nothing he did would have caused a vibration. The problem had to be with the tires or something else. I told him the tires had lifetime rotation and balancing and I would take them to Goodyear to eliminate the tires. He said either way he wanted to see the car and if he had to tear it back apart and it wasn't something he did, "someone would have to pay for it".
The local Ford dealer was called by me to see if the driveshaft could have been installed to cause a vibration. The service adjuster said it could and to try unbolting the rear of the shaft and rotating it 180 degrees.
This morning, 4/27, the car was taken to Goodyear first because they opened before Yorks. The tires were balanced and rotated. Car still had vibration during drive to Yorks. Jack York did not want to test drive the car. He wanted it left with him so he could fix it. He finally test drove it and said it's the tires, the rotors are bad, it has 170,000 miles on it and the cars wore out. He never did offer a suggestion to fix what he thought was wrong.
The car did not have a vibration prior to him working on it. The steering wheel did not vibrate while driving so tha means the rotors were not affecting it.
The sugestion of rotating the driveshaft 180 degress was mentioned. He was very mean, had a very bad attitude, did not act like he wanted to help solve the problem and did not want to cooperate. He talked bad about Goodyear and the Ford dealer. Reluctantly he did rotate the shaft. Guess what? It fixed the problem.
I would not recommend him to work on anything. He says his business is run on word of mouth. I hope so. People of Deland........BEWARE!!!
