Verbal Assault on Customer at West Orange Car Wash (87 Main St. West Orange)
At approximately 1:15PM, I took my 4 door Toyota Camry
to WEST ORANGE CAR WASH for Complete cleaning service which cost me a total of $16.95 .
As soon as the car was washed, I noticed a couple of scratches that appeared to be fresh. I immediately brought it to the attention of the Supervisor. Reluctantly he followed me to the vehicle to observe the damage. As soon as he observed the car he started yelling at me on top of his voice using foul language every chance he got.
He claimed that the damage could not be from the car wash because in his own words "We don't scratch cars here".
When I attempted to express my dissapointment at his
appauling behavior he advanced towards me in an intimidating
fashion and kept yelling to shut me up. I kept my cool and asked if he was the supervisor. To my surprise he turned out to be the Owner of WEST ORANGE CAR WASH. His precise response to the question was "I am the F*@king owner".
Without shame he brought to my attention that a previous customer just made a similar complaint and that he was pissed off. This man obviously wasn't a very bright individual.
I would strongly solicit that no one do business with WEST ORANGE CAR WASH. Besides the scratches on the car the verbal abuse left an emotional scar on me and worse I had already paid in advance.
I have never had this pathetic level of service and I see no reason why WEST ORANGE CAR WASH is in business.

I had an issue with them a few years ago. I never returned because of the way they handled the incident.
About 3 years ago we went in to get a car wash. We never had a problem with the quality of work at the establishment and always thought the quality was as expected or exceeded expectations.
The truck went in one side and came out the other with a broken wireless headset for the DVD player. When my wife showed the cleaner he went and got the manager. The manager was abusive to my wife which prompted me to meet them at the shop. The manager changed his tone when I got there and told me that I needed to speak to the owner after I got the cleaner to admit that they stepped on the headset.
The owner made good on the headset but it required follow up on my part and ultimately me getting the part from the dealer.
Because of thier lack of commitment to customer relations I will not go back nor recommend them to anyone.

I have been using west orange car wash for the last five years and have never had a problem. The one thing to think about is that when layers of dirt and grime are removed, sometimes small scratches are revealed. Also the west orange car wash is quite meticulous in their process, the reason i bring both my high end cars there and have strongly recomended them to friends and family. They clean my 1994 olds 88 the same way the do my 530xi and my parents 750 Li. I can understand one bad review, but quotes like, "I have never had this pathetic level of service and I see no reason why WEST ORANGE CAR WASH is in business." from the original report do not and anything constructive and are simply ad hominem statements. I am sorry for the experience but i will continue to use them.
