Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I have been driving for 3 years and I am third generation in the trucking industry.  I took some time off from the road and then the economy slumped.  Upon my return Werner was the only company willing to take me back after my absence.  Though the wonderful recruiter promised all my experience would be considered in my pay and I would be making .36cpm on my dedicated run for a large store who I will not name.  I also would have my choice of trucks.

Well I knew better than trust a recruiter but werner reminded me.  I currently make .24cpm, drive a truck with major mechanical issues that werner continues to delay repair on.  I am not here to complain about that.

I haul 3 loads a week consistently, but to look at my pay it will not show it!  Last week I recieved a $140.00 check for 1 load though I hauled 3 for that pay period.  That was about 600 to 700 shy of what was owed to me. Not to mention not all that single load should have paid!  Pay roll blamed Driver management and vice versa.  Bottom line was take an advance we will charge you 8 dollars on money we know we owe you.  They claim that this is standard proceedure through out the trucking industry.  Like I am some newbie who has not been out there with other companies.

This is the first pay on time issues I have ever had.  Currently they are up to 7 loads behind me in pay.  They find ways to take incentive pay over things out of drivers control.  Lie cheat and steal the werner way.  They seem to always be trying to take money from drivers and get us to owe them money.  Werner should stand for We Enjoy Ripping off New Employees Regularly

I m a bit skeptic of this story, with 3 years of experience in trucking it sounds as you don t know how trucking is,I as a former Werner contractor never experienced anything as horrible as what you are saying, but it looks to me as if you were forgetting to drop your trip envelopes in time before the cut out time in pay roll dept. I admit there was a bunch of crap and changes going on when I left them, but they never, never tried to cheat me on my pay,as cheap as it was and as few miles as I ran with them,I learned the hard way that you are just an extension of the truck and are considered just a number, there is no loyalty to the employee or driver from the company, but they were always straight on the up and up,so take heart, not all companies are like this,no company is perfect, but there are some better ones out there, werner is fine if you want to learn the ropes, but you d do a disservice to your career if you stay longer than 3 years here,it is a big company, and there is no human touch in the company,no matter what they say in the office,it s cold, heart less but it is straight as far as my experience was concerned.
