Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I recently went into walmart to purchase a certain monopoly game. I normally order online or do online pick up however, today the website was not working properly and it wasn’t far from my work so I just made the quick trip over to the store. When I go to check out the online price was 9 dollars less than the price at the store, so I pulled it up so they could honor their online pricing and apparently wal mart doesn’t honor their own pricing!!

What kind of company doesn’t honor THEIR OWN PRICING!!? I had about a 2 minute argument with the little customer service cashier manager and came to the conclusion that I can’t believe a store/company of this caliber and size would argue with a consumer over 9 dollars. The gentleman even told me I could just pay for it online and pick it up, so I at first Obliged and then realized even though I had it in my hand, I could not pick it up until the next day.

I’m just shocked at how poor this system is organized. It’s more than clear that Wal mart as a whole no longer cares about the consumer and customer satisfaction but about how fast they can get you in and out of the store and take your money. Unfortunately, I still bought the game because I needed it and 9 dollars isn’t breaking the bank however they have definitely lost a customer and I will carry this story on to as many people as possible just out of pure principal. Find a better company, I heard target will honor their online price and you don’t have to purchase online to pick it up later!

...how that Green Dot review landed at this post.  Ignore.

BTW, I just got back from Best Buy.  I ranted at them for an hour because their Online Sale price didn't apply to the stuff on their shelves.  I told them "if I order online you're just going to take it off the shelf and put in the mail, what difference does that make?" They gave me some story about how that's not how it's done, that's not how any of this is done, so I told them to contact the Original Author here to have a Respected, Successful Retailer explain to them how Business works.  /s

..establish a relationship with a local bank or credit union, and join the real world of checking and savings accounts.  Green Dot cards aren't even the coach class of the economy- they are buggy, expensive, and just really, really dumb ways to manage money.  If you can't get a checking account or debit card, just use cash for chrissakes.

Who doesn't know the difference between "online pricing" and "off the shelf pricing."  Uh huh, of course you are, successful retailer in a rage over $9 for a game.   Well, successful retailer, I'm sure glad I gave you some amusement.  Your posts have certainly added some light to my otherwise sad, non-business-owning life.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go down to Best Buy and demand a refrigerator for the Online price.  You've inspired me to stand up for my rights to....um, something.

sooo, i guess i am flummoxed because i asked a company to honor their own pricing. i run a very successful retail operation and i  would never argue with someone or not honor pricing that i display online. thank god we have people like you that think deceptive advertising and practicing is ok so we can keep this up and companies can continue to get away with it. and buddy, when you buy online and pick it up the next day, where do you think it comes from? the same shelf i picked up from! hahahaha. please stop thinking so hard because if youre truly a critic, youre either brand new at this, bored or not a very good one and thats why youre arguing with someone you consider "ignorant" over a wal mart game. thank you for the entertainment. i hope all is well. i suggest a new career field for you sir because it doesnt sound like this is it for you, because no different than you telling me that im not taking the time to understand, you are also not taking the time to educate other than with more ignorance of what your little mind makes sense to you.  have a good one.

..if you really don't understand why stores don't "honor online pricing."  Stores are trying to get people to buy online, so they offer discounts on items online.  You think you can just go to the store and demand the same item that's for sale online for the online price, and you are absolutely flummoxed as to why this isn't the case.  You don't understand the point of online sales, and instead of trying to understand you are lashing out at a critic.

Walmart was honoring it's own pricing- it's Off the Shelf pricing as opposed to it's Online pricing.  You continue to conflate the two.  Because you're an idiot.

And you double-down with your "need" to purchase a game, which I continue to find hilarious.  But please, never walk into a Walmart with your 9 dollars ever again and only go to stores that charge the same price for stuff on the shelves as they do in their online catalogue.  You're in for a rude awakening and a lot more offended ranting.

i guess youre not the type that reads everything or maybe thinks before you speak. if you wouldve read the entire thing, my complaint was 100% not about the 9 dollars. it was the principal that they wouldnt honor their own stores online pricing. i in fact did need the game that day, however i feel like it was a ripoff that the store wouldnt honor their own pricing.

According to the customer service manager, the online Wal Mart is a different from the store. i dont understand why? does that mean i cant see something online and go buy it for the same price from the same exact company, because thats what happened. You also failed to read the part that i couldve bought it online with store pick up, but i wouldve had to pick it up the next day.

you dont see a problem with that? i was literally holding it in my hand, why would i come back? we live in a world where convenience and customer service are what makes companies successful. Your twisted brain of thinking otherwise must be why your such  a great keyboard warrior. thanks for listening and i hope you can understand where im coming from vs. your unnecessary low blows for no reason. have a great day.

"Unfortunately I still bought the game because I needed it..."

You "needed" a game.  Right then, right there.  Couldn't wait even a day.  So you paid $9 more for the convenience of walking out of the store with it instead of ordering it online.

No ripoff here,  unless it's from your ridiculous brain telling you that you needed a game TODAY rather than TOMORROW and that anyone preventing you from getting it at a certain price was involved in some giant conspiracy worthy of a huge rant.  BTW, that game you "needed" is sitting on the game console while you rant away at Walmart here.
