vincarhistory.com Claims to have history when they don't. Internet
I went to vincarhistory.com because I wanted to find information on a vehicle. Prior to making a request, I typed in a VIN for a Tesla that I have on order. The car hadn't been manufactured yet. But the website told me that they have a report on the vehicle. In all fairness, I tried it with VINs that I know haven't been assigned yet and it showed no records. But if the only thing they know is what you could find out for free with a VIN decoder (i.e. this vehicle is a certain make and model with certain options but nothing at all is known about the vehicle history) then it's a lie to say that they have records of anything when what they really mean is that they lack records for it. There are plenty of free sites that will tell you that they have no record of that vehicle, and that alone will tell you what you need. They won't admit that there's no record of the vehicle because that would imply that it has a clean title, but in this case there's no record because the vehicle doesn't yet exist.
