Verizon Wireless free IN CALLING family plan is deceptive and misrepresented but verizon wireless doesn't care they just want the money THEY SAY you owe based on lies or misinformation received from VERIZON representatives.

Verizon Wireless family plan is full of trickery and thinly disguesed misrepresentation. We used our phones based on lies told to us by TWO seperate Verizon representatives that we called to MAKE SURE the calls we were making or receiving would not be charged for against our 1400 minute plan.

When we received our bill, DAYS AFTER WE RECEIVED A VERY RUDE AND THREATENING COLLECTION CALL FROM GREG, we saw we were over DOUBLE what we thought our bill should be. Verizon claims they never told us that we would receive incomming calls from non verizon phones (although we were) and that our IN COMMING calls went well over our minutes and more than doubled our bill. We have FREE LONG DISTANCE as part of the plan. We THOUGHT we had free incomming calls but "FREE IN CALLING" is only from other Verizon wireless phones.

The INCOMMING calls were billed at maximum rates. Verizon wireless has been very rude and keeps calling even thouigh we have asked them to stop calling us until the complaint we filed with the attorney general is looked into. They keep calling anyway.

They will not accept ANY responsability for the mix up and always throw the responsability to find out about the deceptive plans and misinformation supplied by them on us. They are not EVER at fault for anything. Avaiod these heavy handed crooks like the plague they are. NOTHING IS FREE!!

If somebody, especially Verizon Wireless, tells you something IS free yiou can bet you'll pay for it sometime some way. That's the way business is done today and it's companies like Verizon Wireless that set the example and give other companies the idea that misrepresenting things is OK as long as somewhere burried in your war and peace length term, it's mentioned as not being what it sounds like it is.

Let me quickly preface this by saying that while I have Verizon, I'm not particularly fond of it. That said, there are two glaring issues with your complaint. 1. To my knowledge I have never seen Verizon advertise IN calling as being for any incoming calls. It has always been advertised as being for calls within the network. IN means "in network" and I think they have always been clear about that. 2. Before you got your service you signed a service contract. The contract states what you will be charged under which circumstances. It is your responsibility to read and understand that contract. By signing the contract you are telling Verizon that you understand it and accept the terms laid out in it. You failed to understand the contract, that is not their fault. The only exception is if you were to contact Verizon and ask about what the charge is under a given circumstance, and they give you conflicting information. But you need some sort of evidence that you were indeed given incorrect information. You may have been told incorrect information, but since you signed a contract with them, it's your burden to show that you were verbally told something different. In cases like this you should have asked the rep to make a note in your account which records what they told you. You cannot expect Verizon to just take your word for it, since you signed a contract. Considering what you described as what the Verizon reps told you, I think you misunderstood what they said. You say you asked them if calls you were making or recieving would not count against your 1400 minutes. Apparently they told you that they don't count against your minutes. They obviously must have been talking about calls within the network (which DON'T count against your minutes), or else that would make those 1400 minutes totally moot since, according to you, they essentially told you nothing counts against them. What else would count against your minutes besides an incoming or outgoing call? If incoming or outgoing calls don't count against your minutes, why have minutes at all? You call their plan deceptive, but it was completely clear to me. My contract clearly stated, as did every representative I talked with, that in network calling (calling other Verizon phones) is free and do not count against my minutes, but everything else does. As a side note, I'm curious as to why "days" after getting your bill you were being contacted by collections. My Verizon bill gives me several weeks to pay it, and even if I miss a payment, it will not jump directly into collections. I'd have to have missed multiple payments to prompt that. So I think something else is going on here that you are not telling us about.

Have been selling cell phones since the old cell one days it's always the sales reps fault when you go over the mins. Also when kids do text messages. Guys get over it and pay for what you used..

When you sign up with Verizon either online or in a Verizon store, there is a contract you must sign which details the plan. The 1400 minutes you receive (same plan I have) are 1400 "anytime" minutes. "In" minutes are (and always have been) only between Verizon customers and do not count against your 1,400 minutes. Once your total minutes between all phones exceed the 1400 you are charged .40/minute. You will not be charged for any calles until you exceed the 1,400. I'm sorry that the representative "lied" to you, but if you read your contract it should be spelled out for you.
