Here is what I sent the better Business Burro, and the Attorney Generals Office about Van Chevrolet in Scottsdale AZ, and the money they owe me!

I recently purchased a 2007 Chevy Silverado at Van Chevrolet on August 3rd, 2007. I was greeted with enthusiasm and professionalism the moment I walked in. I was actually there to meet up with a friend who works for the company. We sat down and talked about what I was looking for, before I knew it I was test driving the truck I wanted. After the test drive we sat down and figured out financing and what I could afford. We came to the agreement that Van would write me a check for $600, got my payments to where I was comfortable, and I walked out with my brand new truck!!

I was so pleased by the service I received there that I referred two other people to them, who inevitably bought 2 07 Silverados as well under the same terms as mine. I was told that I would receive a $100 per referral. So now Im up to $800 between the two referrals and the $600 that was apart of my deal.

I received a phone call five days later from the finance dept stating that they where unable to finance me unless I found a cosigner. I asked them to give me a day and I would be in contact with them. I asked a friend of mine (who was actually one of my referrals) to cosign. She agreed. We went back down to the dealer to put her on the lease on August 7, 2007. I then asked when I should expect my referral money and the check. I was told "soon." So I checked back every other day or so via phone only to be transferred to someones voice mail. I left several messages, but no replies. I then took it upon myself to email customer service about the money I was to receive. I immediately received a phone call back from a representative stating he would put all the information needed on the salesmans desk. That way he could get to it first thing in the morning. I called back later that week to find no progress was made. I wrote another email about the problem....but no reply. I called several more times, was transferred to more voice mails and still nothing.

One of my referrals actually went into the dealership on Friday August 17, 2007 to ask them about her check. They stated that her and my check will be in on the following Monday (8-20-07).

I received a phone call from the finance department on that Monday stating they had us sign the wrong line and we have to come in and resign the paper work. That was no big deal for me or her since we have to get our checks anyways. I left work roughly 3p.m. called my friend and asked if she had received her check....she said "yes, but they dont have yours."

I immediately called the finance department and asked what the problem was...as the norm; they had no idea why my check was there. I told them I will not be going down to the dealership to sign paper work due to there error, then to come back to pick up checks, due to their error once again. They replied that they understood my concern and "...everything will be taken care of with in the next day or two."

I called the finance dept the following day to make sure the wheels are turning on this ongoing problem. I was told, "I will check into the matter and call you back." Needless to say 7pm rolls around and no phone call from the dealership. So I sat down and wrote them a nice long Email again explaining my concern, and that I would be contacting the better Business Burro as well as the Attorney Generals office.

Which leads us up to today, I called the salesperson on my deal asked him what was going on, and why it is taking almost four weeks to get what was promised to me? He has no clue whats going on, no one is giving me a strait answer, and no one seems to be able to solve this problem!!

I feel as though I am being taken advantage of, Van Chevy owes me money, and is not owning up to it. Please read this letter, and help me out.

Don't bother

Don't bother with the Better Business Burro, they're just a bunch of jackasses. The dealership knows exactly what happened to your money: they don't feel like paying it. They will treat you like a schmuck and keep you running in circles until you go away. File a claim in small claims court. Make sure you have signed documents for the money that they owe you. Keep records of all attempts to contact them, and what the results were. They might not even show up, in which case you would get a default judgment. Have you had to take any time off from work because of this? Make sure to include lost wages if so. Good luck.
