I would first like to respond to comments about a class action suite. I read a 2008 rip off report here from a woman in San Diego. She stated that people have told her if enough consumers complain about V2Premier, a class action suite could be opened. This company has been misrepresenting their computer products as far back as 2002. There are rif-off reports posted here that date that far back. I purchased my "package deal" in 2002. I am not aware of any class action suites. If there is one I would like to be part of it. But, this has been going on for years.

In 2002 I purchased a 1700 dollar V2Premier system from HSN because I was working on my masters at the time and wanted a reliable computer. LOL. There was trouble from the beginning. The package was incomplete when it arrived, the disk drives did not work properly and made hideous grinding noises, and I could not get half the pre-loaded software to work. The software was a selling point for me and it was quite a disappointment when I couldn't get the programs to run.

The package was incomplete when it arrived. I made call after call and kept getting redirected until I finally got the post office involved. I did not receive the missing pieces however, because the company told me that the weight of my package indicated the system arrived complete. I gave it up because it was too much trouble and they weren't budging.

In addition, the disk drives did not work correctly from day one. They still do not work correctly. I later found out that the software wasn't compatible with the hardware. It came fully loaded, so...? I had purchased the digital lifeline service and an extended warranty so, I ran digital lifeline but, they just kept telling me someone was coming out to repair/replace the drives. The drives were never repaired.

Finally, the system crashed twice during the first two years and although it was under warranty both times I did not receive the needed support from the company, and, of course, I had no backup files for my work because the disk drives never worked properly. I managed, to recover the first time. But, obviously it wasn't a permanent fix because it happened again and this time it was beyond the recovery program's capability. A technician said it needed to be reformated. I spoke with and since nothing else had worked I supposed they were correct and the scheduling nightmare started all over again.

I lucked out late one night while attempting to teach myself how to do the reformat. I reached a tech by phone, who told me he wasn't allowed to guide me through the reformat, but he would. He gave me detailed instructions on getting started and he gave me his direct line to call back if I ran into trouble. I managed to get it done, but I did have to call him back a ffew times.

While reformatting the hard drive I finally discovered why I couldn't get a lot of the software to run. This same friendly tech told me that the system was fat32 and it was important that I reformat to fat32. Then I discovered that many of the pre-loaded software programs were not fat32 compatible. Viscom/V2Premier had loaded the computer with incompatible software designed for an NTSF operating system. Many other "programs" were advertisements.

So, while HSN advertised the V2Premier's great software package, most of the programs were useless.

I purchased this expensive system because I needed a dependable system to finish grad school. This system is far from dependible and it does not live up to the HSN sales claims. But then, they didn't really lie, did they? They said it was loaded with software and it is.
