In December of 2001 I purchased an Isuzu Rodeo. Don't get me wrong I've never had one problem with the vehicle it runs great never put a dime in it. But, when I purchased the vehicle I was told by the Asst. Sales Manager (who no longer works for them, big surprise) that our emissions test was done just prior to us taking vehicle from lot. Was also told this by the new Sales Manager.

When I called DMV about why I had to do another emissions test 1 year later instead of 2 years. I was informed that the last emissions test was done on January 15, 2000. The DMV gave me all the info on the last emissions test just by giving them the plate # or vin #. Buyers beware get the vin # and call the DMV and find out when emissions was done before buying any vehicle. The dealership is refusing to pay for the emissions test $27. I know it's not much money but it's the principal of it that they lied to sell another car off their over flowing used car lot.

They did emissions...

Tina,

Drive Time did as they told you, they did an emissions test. In the state of Arizona there are two options for emissions, one or two years. I'm not completely sure what the requirements are to be able to do the two-year test, but it has to do with the age of the vehicle. I believe it is also more expensive to do the two-year test.

So, you may feel that they should have done a two-year test, but I would venture to guess that most dealerships only do a one-year. Also keep in mind that most dealerships either do the emissions tests at their service department or at an authorized site, not at the DMV.

As a former employee of The Duck I can assure you that the test WAS done to conform with Arizona law (IM-240 at that time) and that they did the testing at their repair facility on University Drive.
