Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I purchased a vehicle from Ugly Duckling with a down payment of 1500.00 dollars. Within 2 days of having the vehicle I tried to returned it and get my down payment money back. They would not rescind the transaction. I took the vechicle to get an emission test, which is required by Georgia Law, before a tag is issued on a vehicle.

The car did not pass, took the vehicle back to Ugly Duckling, only for them to keep sending me across the street of their business to a company who would give me a free emission test. Each time that I went the machine was always down.

Finally I got a diagnostic test on the vehicle, to find out it needed repairs before it would pass. Once again I contacted Ugly Duckling to return the vehicle, they would not accept.

I contacted Georgia Clean Air Act, who informed me that a emission test was never none in the state of Georgia or any other state, and the vehicle should not have been on the lot. Once again back to Ugly Duckling with the information, they still would not take the vehicle back.

I wrote the Corporate office in Arizona, I wrote the Better Buisiness Bureau of Georgia and Arizona, contacted and wrote consumer affairs, contacted a lawyer, and wrote the general manager of Atlanta, Georgia.

I was contacted by the Ugly Duckling on Memorial Drive in Stone Mountian Georgia and was told I could bring the vehicle to be fixed and set up on a payment plan to pay for the repairs. I then drove to South Carolina to seek an auto mechanic to fix the vehicle so it would pass emission, the vehicle was fixed and passed emission.

2 weeks later other problems arose and I went back to South Carolina on my way back, the vehicle stop on the side of the road and that is where I left it. I did not make a car payment,Ugly Duckling contacted me about my payment, I told them don't, because they will never get another one from me.

They harassed me at my job, at home they wanted to know where the vehicle was, and was I going to make a payment, I told them I am going to make them wait like they made me, and I was not re-turning any phone calls the same way they did me.

Finally I returned the vehicle to their lot by way of a tow truck of course. This incident happened in 1999, and here it is 2002, and on my credit report shows a balance of what the car cost, and involuntary reposession. What happenend to voluntary reposession. At the time of the incident I was younger and full of anger that I went about the situation the wrong way. Don't do what I did, if you have a case take the time and take them to court and I mean all parties involved including the credit bureaus for not properly investigating your claim.

Most bureau take the word of the business and not the consumer, because this is how they get paid. But it is their job as well to proper investigate and ask for all signed documentation and or proof.

I am in the process of getting a lawyer, contacting News station, lemon law busters,Better Buisness Bureaus,Consumer Affairs, Georgia Clean Air Act, CEO of Ugly Duckling and all three credit reporting agencies.

I am older, wiser, and will not let them get away with what they put me through and still is putting me through.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, its paid for!

I supposably won the lottery, but I can't seem to get a hold of anyone about collecting my money. I got a contest in the mail from Oxford Financial Trust group and payment and they said that when i called my lucky numbers in that my numbers were picked and I won 62,115.21. And they sent me a cashiers check for 2,956.41 and said that it was for a transfer charges and now they wont answer when I call. They put me on hold and then a recording comes on and says that the oxford finacial group is not available to leave a message and 5 minutes before I talked to someone and she said that she needed to pull up my file and put me on hold, then hung up. The letter came in a handwritten envelope and no return address. It was postmarked from canada, I was just wondering if you could respond to this so I could find out if it is real cause I have until the 26th to claim it if I am a real winner.
