Beware of UBID
Alot of people think that UBID is great..............unitl they win an auction and receive damaged goods. I won a pair of speakers from them and when the boxes came the bottoms were falling out! I opened the boxes and the speakers were damaged and bashed in on the corners. I was pissed! The boxes looked like they were abused in the warehouse because they looked old and rotted and dry, as is they were stored improperly, and they smelled like smoke (which leads me to believe they purchase items from fire sales). I called ebay 10 times and was on the phone for about 30 minutes each time. When I finally got thru, I was told that because I didn't buy the UBID insurance I would have to call the manufacturer! I paid over 500.00 for a pair of busted speakers and UBID makes it seem as if its my fault! Not to mention that they charged me an outrageous amount for UPS ground shipping! I checked on the UPS web site how much it would have cost and it was 1/5 the amount UBID charged! I am still trying to get this resolved and I will post followups as the info comes...............STAY AWAY FROM UBID! THEY ARE A SERIOUS RIP OFF! AND THEY SHIP DAMAGED GOODS!
