Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

It's telling that this establishment and its products aren't listed anywhere on the web other than "Ripoff" sites like this one.  Nor is their address or phone number listed anywhere that I can find online.  And, now that I think about it, their name isn't even on the front of their store on Beverly Drive.  All of which is why I had to leave those spaces blank in filing this report.

Also, as a preamble, I was (and still am) totally embarrassed that this happened to me, although I have found comfort having discovered stories on this site by other people who've had the same experience with this dubious company.

I was approached by a person whose name I'm still not sure of due to his very strong indeterminent accent (he said he's from Italy) in front of this store on Beverly Drive.  He was standing on the sidewalk with another employee.  I don't even know why I let myself be lured in to the shop by him but for some reason I followed him in to try out a sample of their eye cream, which he applied to one of my eyes; I had to admit I liked the result.  So even though he was starting to make me uncomforable with his polished (though sometimes unintelligable) rap, I followed him into the room where they do facials to try out some other products.  Babbling away with stupid questions (e.g., "Are you adventurous?" "Do you trust me?") and weird promises (e.g., "I'm going to do something nice for you, okay, because I like you."), he started rubbing my face with some laser device, which he described as being basically the best thing since sliced bread.

Then every so often his babbling was laced with "I make you a deal," and "$4600 for a whole year," along with promises of other products I'd get for free.  It took me awhile to realize that he was wanting me to fork over $4600 for a year of monthly treatments with this laser device.  He kept asking, "You want me to put this on the same card?" (I had stupidly bought some of the eye cream.) I kept saying "hold on, no!"  Then he applied some cream of some sort to half my face as he repeated over and over again how great these products were, "I do something nice for you," and "can I put this on your card?"  Over and over again.

At this point the 20 minutes he said this sample treatment would take was approaching 30 minutes and I said I had to leave.  He was trying to justify the $4600 cost for 12 months (one time monthly) of the laser treatment, and making offers of "free" other products, all the while with my face half slathered with cream, which he eventually removed and held up a mirror so I could see the difference in the 2 sides of my face.  I admitted I could see a diffference.  And then he applied a mask.  Talking talking talking.  He pointed at my shoes and surmised how much I'd paid for them, making the assumption that if I could afford them I should have no problem doing something nice for myself by making myself appear younger than I am.  Which isn't really a goal of mine in the first place.

Finally I become more insistent that I had to leave, with him asking me, "Why you in such a hurry?  Where do you have to be?"  He was pulling out these other products that augment the laser treatment, putting them on my chest for some reason, maybe or maybe not (I couldn't understand him) offering them for free if I bought the laser thing, along with a facial with their aesthetician, which I later found out would otherwise cost $1700.

I should have just gotten off the table as I was getting more and more agitated and he was becoming more and more insistent, but for some reason I didn't, and then, for some completely inexplicable reason I finally agreed to buy the laser device, which he instructed me to bring in to the shop once a month for the next 12 months to have someone use it on me.  I cringe every time I think about how and why I did this.

At some point he told me he was in a hurry too, as he had to catch a plane to Japan that afternoon, which I discovered was a lie when I went back to the shop two days later to try to return all the products except for the eye cream which I actually had wanted to try.  As for the Japan thing, he made some excuse and said his trip was delayed a day, which I totally don't believe.  Of course he, along with some other staff person, fought me on returning the products, showing me on my receipt where it said that all sales are final, which I hadn't noticed but which didn't surprise me.  He started up again with his sales rap, how wonderful the products are, asking again how much my shoes cost and other instrusive questions, which I told him were none of his business.  I asked him to cut it out, I didn't need to have this "conversation" again, I just wanted my money back.  He feigned being hurt, then angry at me.

He whispered back and forth with the other guy, referencing over and over the "all sales final" thing before finally saying he wanted to help me out, and that I should come this next Sunday for the facial I scheduled, which I now have no intention of showing up for.

I don't want these products and I don't want to set foot in this shop again, so I may just have to "eat" this $5000, with tax.  Otherwise, I don't know what to do.  I don't know if or how submitting this report can help me.  I don't know anything about the "better business bureau" but I'm going to find out and perhaps send this long note to them as well.

If anyone at THIS site has any advice for me, I would surely appreciate it.

Thanks.
