I called 1-800-travellodge to find a hotel to stay in during my trip to disneyworld, expecting to find a reasonably nice hotel. The girl on the phone was nice and very helpful, my only regret is that i didnt get her name. She said, although i didnt believe it, that children under 18 eat free, i infact repeated the question to her twice. She also claimed, as does the hotel information, that there would be a free shuttle to disney and discout tickets no strings attached. I made reservations and was quoted a price. I felt that I was all set to go.

When we arrived in Kissimmee I almost missed the hotel seeing as to how there is no really visible sign with the name on it. After we got in to the hotel we found out that there were no discount tickets, only twelve and under at free(there were two seventeen year olds on the trip), and i never once saw a disney shuttle.

I recovered from all of this and went to my room hoping to enjoy a relaxing night on the first night of my vacation. Of course this didnt occur. Our door would not lock, we had no shampoo, no soap, no towels, there was dirt all over the floor and when we dialed the front desk the phone rang continously without anyone answering seven times in a room about twenty rings each time. When someone did answer we asked for a wake up call at six and they hung up on the phone without saying okay thank you sure anything just hung up. so we thought the phone may have messed up. we called again repeating the same half hour event of tryign to get someone to picck up the phone.

When they picked up this time they were extremely rude. When our hotel door did lock it would nto unlock. we werent the only ones having this problem either. a lady we met while trying to unlock our door told us she had had the same problem and would never stay there again. We finally got back inside our hotel and got the door shut when my mother who wsas travleing with us went to get ice. she was gone nearly half an hour. the ice machine next to our room did not work so she had to go to another which only barely deposited any ice in our ice bucket, after this she had to go to once again another ice machine.

When she came back the small hotel offered ice bucket was only about fifty percent full. we made it through the first night despite the door and moved into another room the next morning. we asked if it would be okay if we faced the pool. of course the clerk didnt mention at all that it would cost more. We turned on the air conditioner full blast and went off to disneyworld.

When we returned our room was like a sauna. the air conditioner did not work and was blowing out warm air when it did blow out air. so we switched reluctantly to another room at midnight that night after walking around disneyworld in the hundred degrees heat since eight that morning we once again found ourself packing and unpacking. the next room had an air conditioner, but aside from calling front desk the phone did not work at all. in fact the cover of the phone could be lifted up to show the exposed wires and inside mechanisms.

Food from the other guests were under the bed and ground into the carpet. there were no cups, no towels, no ice bucket, no soap, no anything in the room this time. We lifted up our sheets and began to notice hair under the sheets and then spots. as we got farther down we found a stain that appeared to be from a womans menustration we lifted up the sheet only to discover that the stain was on the linens underneat the sheet and all the way through to the mattress. makes you wonder how long it had been since they changed the sheets. we made it thorough the night and through the night after that.

Then we checked out. The clerk had charged us two dollars for a 1-800 number which is suppose to be free and 1.25 for a local call but we never used the phone. the clerks name i believe was marek and he was absurdly rude to us. he did not let us speak to a manager and although when we repettitvely told him we did not make a call on the phone he repetitively accused us of lying he took the 1.25 off on account of guest dispute but left the toll free call which he was charging us two dollars for. Also i dont know much about taxes but aside from florida tax, phone tax, and hotel tax, they also charged us resort tax! resort tax to stay in a roach motel, how amusing.

I will never stay in a travellodge again and i will make it my duty to warn everyone else not to either. This was the worst vacationa nd the worst lodging i have ever seen.
