I know that it been several years but I have to tell someone about what happen to me. In 1995 I bought a 1993 dodge spirit car which was finance thru transouth finanical corp. The contract ran thru sept. 1999 which I paid off in full before that date. I have yet to recieve a title to that car its been so long that I had, for a whille forget that they never send it to me. Oh yes I did call this company serveral times to inquire about this, and was told that it take a while, but I was assured that the title would be mailed out to me. This never happen. I tried to give the car to someone and remembered that I never received the title. Why wouldn't they just send the title after receiving the balance of the contract? Now I'll will just have to keep it or junk it. Something should be done about this. Do I have other things that I could do to resolve this?

Did you try to get it through the DMV? Apply for it as lost/stolen? Hopefully Transouth took themselves off as lienholder. I believe Citifinancial Auto bought Transouth. I don't think the auto finance companies hold onto the actual title. I think they order it from the DMV after the loan is paid and instruct the DMV to take them off as lienholder. Maybe the DMV messed up in not sending it to you.
