Total Home Protection Scam contract, lying salesperson Nationwide
Be very very careful of these people; their company is based on a scam sales approach and a tricky small print contract that basically covers nothing (their sales team blatantly lies about their coverage, it's extent and how the process works. Arguably, consumers should read their entire contract but how many consumers read a multipage small print contract full of legalese? Most of us rely on the honesty of the sales team which in this case is nonexistent.) They do not cover replacement costs of your appliances should they go bad. All of the repairs have Dollar caps on them – – for example $500 to fix a water heater – –and which do not cover costs.
Further they have very careful definitions of what kind of repairs they will cover and what they won't, all written in such a way to give them legal cover for paying nothing.
We have owned a variety of houses and "fliped" houses for a time. We are well acquainted with what reputable home warranty compznies do and how they operate. Stay away from these people. They are unethical and if you get involved with them you will regret it. The good news is that there are home warranty companies out there that actually cover the cost of replacing broken appliances. Just be sure they have no "repair dollar caps" and that their contract states they will replace an entire appliance if they can't fix it.
