I was getting cold calls from Thumbtack. I finally answered and the sales rep named Brittany was trying to sell me on something and I told her I don't pay for job leads and have plenty of work. She persisted and told me that they're willing to give me a 100 dollars in credit to use as leads and that she'd email me a disclosure and as soon as I sign it she'd call back and shedule an appointment for me with a specialist. I signed it and emailed it back. I didn't get a call back so within a couple hours of signing I read it and the statement said I am being charged 300.

I then thought it was a scam and called Thumback and I spoke to a saled rep and he apologized for the misunderstanding and told me he'd deactivate my account and I wouldn't be charged. Then on Christmas I read my credit card statement and I have a 300 dollar charge. The following day I call Thumbtack and I tell them what happened. They then have someone named Ryan call me and he tells me might might be able to get me my money back and how its a great program etc still try to sell me it. I tell him I am not interested. He then promises to call me back the next day and doesn't so I call him and no return call and then the following day no call from him so I call again and no return call.

Now I have to go to the extent about spreading the word about the sales dept tactics and what they're about on site as well as reporting them to BBB and opening up a credit card dispute. Really frustrating between the cold calls, false prentese and lies. Red flags and everyone I have spoken to at customer service says sorry that I;m going through this, but they can't do anything since its a completely seperate departement. And the kicker is when I did speak to Ryan he laughed and told me Brittany is really pursasive and was pushing him to process the credit card as soon as they recieved my signature via email. Completely unprofessional. Most frustrating issue Iv'e ever dealt with on an online platform and I'm on multiple with thousands of reviews which are all 5 star.
