Theatre Research speakers, Canyon Audio, TR, cheap speakers, rip off, vans, trucks, scam, buyer beware Salt Lake City Utah
I was recently ripped off by two guys in a blue explorer...ooooh I wish I wrote down the license plate number.
When they approached me, it was in the Costco parking lot here is Salt Lake City, Utah and wanted to know if I was looking for some speakers or something like that.
I cam up and took a look. I had a bad feeling about the whole deal but still bought them. I was able to lowr the price very easily and that was very weird. Plus, he showed me ads in two magazines and the boxes were professionally done and sealed with manufacturer tape.
After doing some research it looked like the speakers were crap from China and this whole deal is simply a scam going on everywhere. Manily done by ex cons who can't get a job.
Man I paid $750 for 4 cases of TR-6.1 speakers.
What's sad is that when I was driving to the bank I called my good friend who was at home but not very savvy with computers, and asked him to make some searches on eBay and Google.
He did and he found the speakers that I wa stalking about, and said they looked great which they do and that they really were posted for the price that they are being listed for MSRP.
Now I feel like an idiot, especially witht he fact that I am pretty good with audio and have never heard of this brand, but got hooked by the price and good packaging.
Buyer beware and do not fall for this scam.
It even sounds like everyone who did fall for the scam ended up getting hooked with the same story.
