Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We bought an alyssa dinette with a server for $1691.99 at this store. When we first went to the store we spoke to Joan Staples. She was very professional and worked with us. We returned to the store to make the final purchase and met a very difficult to work with and unprofessional sales man called Jerald. This is the kind of person who thinks knows whats best for you and wont even listen to you. This should have been our sign to run but we really liked the product although the server that came with it was not instock as of the purchase date of 04/06/09 and they had no picture of the product on the website or in the store. Jerald promised us that this would be delivered that weekend and if we did not like it we could return it.

We had hoped to use the 2 year financing to get the set however Jerald did a horrible job of getting credit for the purchase because he forgot to use our old address since we had just moved. This is a salesman who wont listen to your personal circumstances and just does what he thinks. We were declined that credit because our address was too new, not that we did not get credit.

This is a person whom we are told was once a store manager.

We took delivery of the dinette with 7 chairs the weekend of the Easter holiday April 12 minus the server.

They promised us that within two weeks we would have our server. Two weeks came and went and not one person called to explain the delay. We decided to drive to another branch store which was in Merriville, Indiana only to discover that they had the item in store and was on display. Tose Nastoski was very professional to us and asked us pertinent questions which led us to discover that Jerald had failed to give us the option to buy the furniture protection warranty. At this time, Tose advised us that we were better off waiting to get the server from the store rather than cancel the order and placing the order with his store.

We went back to the Glenwood store to tell the General Manager of our dissatisfaction with our entire shopping experience and he point blank told us that why would he waste time finding out what went wrong with our order.

Mind you we were not rude or acted obnoxiously.

We just wanted to get our server that we had paid for.

We waited another three weeks and still had not heard anything from the store.

A week before Mothers Day may 10th, I went to the store and demanded answers from another store Manager called Steve Gulias. I must admit at this point I had lost my patience with the entire store. He told me that they had run out of the item and that it was being shipped to us with a status code of ASAP and that we would have our server in no time. I told him to call me as soon as he heard anything or when the shipment was going to be delivered. Mothers Day came and went without or server or a call from this particular manager.

We decided to give it another week to see whether they would be true to their word of having difficulties with the computer system( they were having a new computer system, there was a glitch in the system where one computer screen was different from another computer in the same store amongst several lies they told us)

Finally, I got a call for the delivery of the server on Friday or Saturday the 16th or the 17th. I told them I would be at work and they should deliver on Saturday.

On Saturday at 11 am I called to find out whether they were still going to be delivering my order. I was told that it showed that it was going to be delivered when the lady on the line told me no there was nothing on the schedule showing any delivery for that day. She put me on hold for 15 minutes and promised to call me back. She never did.

We had grown tired of their antics and decided we had had enough almost two months after our first transaction on 4/6/09. We went to the store and canceled the order for the server.

Even there at the Glenwood store, no Manager came to over any apology and directly avoided us. When I asked to speak to a manager one hispanic looking male that I had talked to earlier just brushed of the request in full view of us.

A word to the wise. Do not shop at this particular store. They think they are doing you a favor by selling items they no longer carry or do not have in stock.
