We live in California but have investment property in the Bentonville area. One property is a 4-plex in Rogers. Terminix contacted our property management company saying they would be going by the property to inspect for pest problems. Our property manager told them that they would call us to see if we wanted the service and asked that Terminix call back to confirm and to set a time for the Terminix inspector to see the inside of the property. We then received a bill for $381.50. We called Terminix to find out why and we were told that Terminix did an inspection and that was what was owed. We explained to the Bentonville Terminix office that we did not want the service, that we had told our property manager we didn't want the service, and that Terminix never called our property manager back to confirm whether or not to do the service or to schedule a time to see the inside of the units.

Terminix told us regardless they had now done the service and we owed them for it. Although they never did get approval to this, we then also explained that they did not do the service because they had not even seen the inside of the four units. The outside is all brick. The only way to inspect for termite damage would be to go inside...and this was never done. Again they explained that we would not receive a refund period! Next we called the national Terminix office and after MANY calls and leaving MANY messages we finally reached someone that said we would not receive a refund. However, we would not give up. Without all the details, eventually we did get someone to agree to give us a refund. They said the check would be sent out immediately. We did receive the check for $323.16. That's about $58.34 short of what we were owed. We called to find out why and were told that they were prorating what they owed us because their inspection was in Janurary and it was now March. We explained that they should not be prorating something we should never have been charged in the first place. Again they disagreed. Working with Terminix has been ridiculous. First they do what they call a service without getting our approval. Then that service was not really done since they did not go in to the property. And then now they prorate what we are owed even though we should not have been charged in the first place. Others need to know about how they take advantage of people, how they run their business, and that Terminix doesn't care about customer service.
