Super Rooter HALF JOB DONE - FULL PRICE PAID - NO INDOOR PLUMBING ripoff Gulfport Mississippi
Back in November, I had a problem with my plumbing. Roto Rooter came out and diagnosed a problem with my grinder pump. The previous tenants had dumped grease in the drain and the pump was clogged and had burned out. After comparison shopping, I went with Super Rooter to replace the pump. They responsed faster, were more pleasant & professional and cheaper. MARK EVANS came out and removed my old pump and installed the new one. Charged me $900 for the new pump and went on his merry way.
Approximately 6 months later, I noticed a noise coming from the tank and the toilet in my master bathroom was now flushing slow, if at all. I tried calling Super Rooter several times and got no answer and no calls back. Finally, when the plumbing stopped working altogether, I called Roto Rooter. By this point, the water in the tank had started overflowing and raw sewage was now being spilled onto my grass.
Roto Rooter came out, pulled the pump, unclogged it again and got it working but informed me that there is supposed to be a valve on either end of the drain pipe. Basically, this valve prevents anything that was pumped out of the tank from flowing back into the tank. Super Rooter had neglected to install this valve.
I was also informed that there should be "legs" on the bottom of the pump to prevent it from sitting on the bottom of the tank. This allows the water to flow freely and prevents anything from getting stuck under the pump. These legs weren't there either. After paying Roto Rooter another $450, I again called Super Rooter - all 3 numbers I had - and left messages. Again, no answers, no call backs. Roto Rooter also informed me that if they come back out to install this valve, it will be ANOTHER $500!
I have tried calling them no less than 20 times. I have left messages on all the machines and this morning I woke to a strange noise coming from the tank and the pump not functioning properly. I called Super Rooter AGAIN and now all the mailboxes are full and I can't even leave a message. I have someone from a Plumb Masterz coming out in the morning and pray that he can fix the problem without it costing me another $500 that I just dont' have.
Stay away from this company! And, while Roto Rooter has been quick to respond (and had ONE kind and compassionate technician), I'm not happy with them either, but Super Rooter is just one big fat rip off. I have filed reports with the Better Business Bureau and contacted the local news station. I have now filed this warning to consumers and the next place I am heading is to the local newspaper. I'm a single mother who just moved here a couple years ago and I have had to put out upwards of $2000 on a pump for a house that was only 2 years old.
