Street Keys Continuing rip-off Cupertino Internet
My Godson had driven my Thunderbird and misplaced the keys. I was moving out of state and shipping the car so I required both sets of keys. I ordered a blank from Street Keys on June 16. A week later my Godson found the missing keys about the time I received the new blank so I called Street Keys to see if I could return the unused blank for a refund. I received a return authorization number and mailed it back.
I noticed a couple of months later the $84.98 charge still appeared on my AMX statement. After e-mails and telephoning (to a unanswered phone) I notified AMX of the problem. After they notified Street Keys along with the postage receipt of return, they returned a portion of the original $84.98. Street Keys "Customer Service" (watch out for that kind of service) notified me via e-mail of a "full refund" of $73.98. I calculated a $6 shipping charge (cost me $1.47 to send it back) and a $5 restocking charge was a pretty good profit of $11.00 for their trouble.
That was not the case. The actual amount they credited AMX was yet another $9.25 less of 64.73. Now a $84.98 key cost me $20.25 and I have nothing but a postal receipt.
Street Keys is in the business of ripping off people - 100% if they can get away with it. A 23% profit on shuffling a key around is piracy. Shame on Street Keys! Let's put these California cons out of business!
