We are extremeley disastisfied with Spitzer Cheverolet and your partnership with First Extended Service Corporation. Your service man Aaron suggested we get a rent a car when I brought my truck in to be serviced for a problem on Thurs (2-27-03)with the ABS brakes pump.

He told me it was going to take a "few" hours to get approval from First Extended to authorize the over $900 repair. He hated to see me sit there while waiting for approval. In dealing with First Extended, they explained to me that at minimum it takes 24-48 hours to get approval.

Since it is an extended warranty that your company sells, I am sure you are aware of how poorly they are managed and do not care about their policy holders. I was told the repair was to take 3 hours and the policy would only pay for the rent a car if it was a four hour job and needed to be kept over night. The vehicle was kept over night and the next day Aaron had still not received approval from First Extended. Had I know that approval took so long I would have taken my vehicle with me and brought it back when approval was had.

The people at First Extended are rude and not very helpful. When looking them up on the internet there are 13+ complaints about them across the country for this issue and ones of claims being unreasonable denied. I am shocked at Spitzer's partnereship with such an organization. At this point, after I argued with First Extended for over 30 minutes, approval was called into Aaron at 4:00 on Friday. My husband had already returned and paid for the Enterprise rent a car ($100) and picked up his truck to bring it home.

We now need to take the vehicle back in on Monday to have the repairs done. In our opinion, First Extended, Spitzer, & Enterprise have quite a racket going on. You sell us $1195 extended warranty agreement that does not accurately spell out all the negative terms of the agreement, mislead us into thinking approval will be relatively quick, set us up for a rent a car rip off with Enterprise who is conveniently there when we could have just taken our vehichle home.

We will be writing hard copy letters to Chevrolet Corp., Spitzer Chevrolet, Enterprise, First Extended, the Better Business Bureau, the Rip Off Report, and anyone else who will listen! We will be writing for a refund on the balance of the extended warranty and will tell everyone we know not to buy from Spitzer!

In looking up information on First Extended on the internet to find someone there to contact about my outrage, I am glad to see I am not alone! We need to bring this to a stop now! No more innocent people paying hard earned money for nothing! We are being ripped off by First Extended, the car dealers selling their policies (Spitzer Chevrolet in Macedonia, OH in my case), and Enterprise Rent-a-Car who is so conveniently located at this dealer to aid in the rip off!

When arriving at the dealer, I was told to sit tight while they checked out the problem.

After 2 hours they told me it was a repair to the ABS pump that would probably be approved by First Extended. The service guy suggested I get a rent car because approval would take a "few" hours and the repair would then take 3 hours. He further explained that First Extended would not pay for a rent a car because there contract states it needs to be a 4 hour job and the car needs to be kept overnight. He even told me he would give me a 15% off coupon for the rent a car. It should be $30 he said for a day while he gets approval and makes the repair.

The contract fails to mention and so did the service guy the lengthy approval time. This dealers sells these poor policies and has to know the company history and yet continues to sell them! I have made several phone calls to First Extended and have been treated rudely and given excuses and no satisfaction. Spitzer's service guy called me at 4:00 Friday to tell me he just got approval and I would need to bring the vehicle back in to make the repair. My husband had since just left there with the vehicle to be able to use it for the weekend(the problem was not a danger to us). When he turned in the rent a car, he was charged $45/day(not$30).

We paid $100 for the car when we really didn't need it! We never would have rented it had we known approval was a long process. We never would have bought the policy had we known of their negatives terms (not spelled out on the policy) and we never would have bought or will ever again buy a car from Spitzer.
