Complaint Review: Southwestern Bell Telephone Company & Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC (PRA LLC) - Dallas, Texas

Subj: Harassment by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company with fradulent charges of telephone bill which never belonged to me.

With reference to the above subject, I am filing a report on Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for harassing me with fradulent charges of the telehone bill which never belonged to me. I am currently residing in the state of California. During my tenure in Oklahoma City 3 yrs ago, I had only one telephone number under my name. and that particular account's balance is $ 0.00 and completely paid off.

After 3 yrs Southwestern Bell Telephone Company currently is harassing and accusing me of unpaid chrages of $851.23 of a particular telephone number which never belonged to me during my tenure in Oklahoma State.

I spoke to the supervisor, Ms. Benitez in the Southwestern Bell Telephone company final accounts center in Texas requesting her to send me the letter confirming $0.00 balance of the only one account I had in my name during my tenure in Oklahoma. But she is very rude and abusive and is not cooperating in sending me the letter stating a $ 0.00 balance and moreover threating and abusing me of paying chrages of $ 851.23 of an unpaid account which never belonged to me. Even her team members in the final accounts center are not cooperative and are very abusive giving me a very hard time to get this problem resolved. They are not willing to send me the letter of $ 0.00 I requested.

On 12/17/02, Ms. Benitez said that she sent 2 letters one dated, 12/4/02 and the second one dated 12/6/02 which state that my account had a $0.00 balance. But I did not receive any of the 2 letters sent to me till date. When I requested her to send me a third letter and also requested her to either fax it or fed-ex it, she not only refused very impolitely, but also was very rude and abusive and accused me of owning an account with an unpiad balance which never belonged to me. She and her final accounts department harassed me to such an extent that I am having serious medical problems right now, for which I may have to undergo a surgery.

I am extremely sorry and feel bad to say that this is the most frustrating and disgusting customer service where the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company is being fradulent in blaming innocent people with unknown accounts and unpaid bills.

I am taking this extreme step of not only reporting this problem in this web site, but I feel very sorry to take the drastic step of filing a LAW SUIT agianst SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY - FINAL ACCOUNTS CENTER and ALSO WITH MS. BENITEZ and her team for being rude, abusive, harassing and torturing innovent people.

Moreover Southwestern Bell Telephone Company not only disturbed my peace of mind, but also submitted my information to the Collection agency (Portfolio Recovery Associates) for an unpaid account which never belonged to me. This Collection agency is harassing and torturing me and threating me to pay the telephone bills of Unpaid account which never belonged to me. I have spoken to Mr. Al Rodriguez, supervisor of PRA in Norfolk, VA. and unfortunately he is also being very impolite and rude and moreover giving me lot of torture and pressure to pay the bill amount of $ 851.23, the account which never belonged to me.

Mr. Al Rodriguez is also threating me that he would not remove my name from the credit bureau, until I pay the balance of $ 851.23,the account which never owned in my life time. He's also threatend me of spoiling my credit history.

I am very sorry to say that I am forced to proceed legally against Ms. benitez of SOUTHwestern Bell Telehone company and the company itself for filing a law suit, along with filing a law suit with Portfolio Recovery ASsociates (PRA) and with Mr. Al Rodriguez of PRA for torturing me and threating me of bills I never owned. I am forced to take this extreme drastic step, because my health is at stake right now and I am undergoing a major health surgery, because of the threating and harassing issues created by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRA).
