Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I reference a 4/21/2000 report titled "MMT Music Group, False Intentions rip-off." The same Company dba SongBird Talent Promotions Division (claiming to be a separate company from Songbird Promotions) is still travelling around the country seeking "wanna be" entertainers and promising them recording contracts. The only change is a different president named Wayne Brayfield who is claiming to be the "Former President of the Famed McFadden Booking Agency." He further claims to have been the agent for The Doobie Brothers, Billy Ray Cyrus, The Bleeding Hearts, and also has managed Craig Martin.

They still require payment up front of $50.00 for single acts and $100 for groups. Each package comes with 20 tickets which the artist is to sell to family and friends @ $10.00 each. So you one spend $350 for a video tape. He claims he to be an Independant Agent (misspelled) for five MAJOR record labels, but fails to name one. He also claims to hold the "Govenor (misspelled too) Award" from Tennessee and Arkansas. (Is that a prison award?)

He'll be stealing money from folks at the Holiday Inn Ballroom, 1101 6th Ave NE, Decatur, AL on Saturday Nov 24, 2001. Oh, his form states, "Bring all monies and unsold tickets to check in table day of show." Since this is a "legitimate offer" he only accepts cash or money orders, "No Personal Checks."

I plan to turn this information over to the Morgan County District Attorney.

I was doing a search on the internet and came across this report and would like to make a few comments...Wayne Brayfield is a friend of mine and I just wanted to get a few facts strait I am not going to get into any arguments with anyone, but Wayne isn't part of Songbird, it is actually owned by someone else...Wayne was the booking agent for The Doobie Brothers, Billy Ray Cyrus and The Bleeding Hearts....He also did manage Craig Martin(Co-writer on Don't Take The Girl.", by Tim McGraw)...all of this took place when he worked for McFadden Artists... He was also the President of McFadden Artists for a short period of time after Mr. McFadden passed away, and probablly would still be if Wayne and Ms. McFadden would have gotten along...and just for another fact, his wife is Vice President of CMT... Songbird Promotions and MMT Music Group are indeed seperate companies as Mr. Goodwin explained and to my knowledge are no longer doing business together...Wayne Brayfield is retired and lives in Nashville, TN Please get your facts strait before you dogg people you don't know...if for some reason you feel like you were treated wrong by someone, take it up with them, not blast them all over the internet.....thank you....

Bruce Goodwin is a no talent con-artist who has no other way to make a living than by ripping off people who want to make it in the music biz. Please don't give this slimeball any of your money. He ripped me and my business associate off for $5000 in the early nineties. I cannot believe he is not in prison by now! He fled to Panama City from Nashville several years ago. I filed several complaints with the BBB but they didn't help bring him to justice. I was so devastated by the whole experience that I just wanted to forget about it. I later met up with some people who recognized my talent and did help me record and publish my music. Reading about this brought back my memory of what a horrible man Bruce Goodwin is...stay away from him. He needs to be in prison. He has no morals, no integrity and no heart. And he still owes me $5000.......... I know all about Wayne Brayfield!!! He started out legitimate as a producer and manager for unknowns such as Deanna Cox (no big name acts though) but grew so desperate for money that he also started ripping people off. He was the bus driver for Billy Ray Cyrus for a while after his studio mysteriously burned down several years ago. Did you get that? He was the TOUR BUS DRIVER!!!

If your company was only "invited" to take part in the so called showcase, why is a contact for an associated record label for MMT, the contact person to return the money for the tickets for the event? Mr. Morris Hash is the owner of Angelwingmusic, angelwingmusic.com can be viewed to the confirm this. On the same said website, it is noted that AWM is a part of MMT Music group. It is Mr. Hash that the performers are to return their ticket money for the south Georgia performance on Feb. 9th. If your companies are indeed only invited, why would the performers need to send any TICKET MONEY to AWM (or yourselves in an around the bout way) if you're only there to scout for talent? Georgia State Music Group does not exist in the BBB.Org database and there is no contact information included in contacting them. Do they exist at all?

I will not spend a lot of my time replying to a false claim. I will simply reply by stating we are not songbird or any other company name. We were invited to the showcase like any other music company. We are MMT Music Group and are recognized by the BBB as a member.Maybe this will clear up the confusion that we are not songbird etc. My Best:

I hate to hear that MMT is still in business. No matter what they name the company,it is the same old con.A legal one, but still a con of sorts. It is SO true that all his paperwork has misspelled words on it.You can tell it is a home office ran business. To avoid this rip off, ask a LOT of questions.Ask for PROOF of his work. Such as,letters of recommendations, name of albums where he is mentioned:special thanks to or something of that nature. Ask where he is getting his music and his lyrics for this "record" he will produce for you.He won't promise to make you a "star" but he will take money from anyone whether they have talent or not.He is selling you a dream....and a DREAM it is! IF other people OUTSIDE your family, continually tell you that you have talent,THEN...find yourself a local management or talent agency for guidance.Even then, ask questions and "check up" on them to make sure they are legit. IF they ask for money,FORGET it..RUN AWAY! The only money you need to spend is on pictures at a good headshot photographer and a good demo tape which you can do yourself by asking at your local music store. They are a great source of inside info.Stores such as mars music..etc. Most people who travel around doing this type of thing are just getting you karaoke style tracks to sing with. And with a little research on the internet, you can locate LOTS of them yourself. EVEN ORIGINAL MUSIC!!! REMEMBER:People asking for money to help make your dreams come true, are ONLY making THEIR dreams come true!
