Store owner, Dean, made good on my refund this date..writing me a check once I arrived at the store. I am grateful to him for stepping up to the plate. Sears Corporate Customer Service did nothing and is owed no thanks for anything.

I received a response from the Sears 'Customer Care' web-based unit. It reads in part as follows; "We apologize for the inconvenience you are currently experiencing with your Sears item. Unfortunately since this item was bought in the store we are not able to assit you, we recommend you contact the store in which the item was purchased in for further assistance. They will be able to inform you with the refund you should be receiving..." This should come as a surprise to no one. I rest my case.
