Scarritt Motors, Scarritt Lincoln Mercury Dishonest, ripoff, downright liars and sellers of junk used cars that were in crashes, extremely bad customer service. Seminole Florida
On June, 2002 I purchased a 2001 Ford Windstar van from Scarritt Motors. I drove it to Minnesota to attend my grandfather's funeral and while on driving at freeway speeds I noticed it always pulled to one side. I had the oil changed once I arrived and the service person wanted to know where the info sticker was. I also noticed the headlights pointed almost straight down and had to run the high beams just to see 30 feet ahead.
I began to suspect something was really wrong with this van and I immediately took it to Carmax to have them do an inspection for me. The people at Carmax asked why I brought the van back again, and I told them I just bought it and I had never been here with this vehicle before. They said someone had brought it in to sell and they would not buy it because it was in a major collision. They showed me all the work that was done and all new paint that was applied.
I then went to Scarritt to get an explanation as to why they would sell a vehicle that should never have been sold as a "Certified Vehicle". They gave me a load of bull and tried to side-step the issue by saying, "oh, you got such a good deal" and such.
I was so angry I made a huge sign and paced back and forth in front of their dealership with it on a hand truck that said, "DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM SCARRITT", but they got me inside and promised one of the Scarritt boys would call me. He did but nothing came of it.
These lying jackasses just continue to screw people, and I thank websites like this to allow us victims a place to vent our frustrations. I contacted an attorney about it, but they offered little to no help in this situation, but man did that sign get a LOT of attention, maybe I'll get it out again and do some pacing in front of their business again, man, they sure did hate that.
