You just can't trust anyone these days.My mom (68) Japanese widowed.Has seen the Roto-Rooter comercial for so many years. I happened to be outa town,1 day tolong.She discovers a leak (Not a gusher) a drip. not knowing when I'd be back . She had my sister (Who lives 100+ miles away) to call Roto-Rooter for her. (My moms english not to good). She feeling that my mom was in safe hands (she's seen the commercials also) figures my mom was in safe hands. If you cant believe the Roto Rooter Man after all the years 25+ hearing their friendly tune "And away Go Troubles Down the Drain" Now my sister felt that this well known company would do bussiness professionaly and not seize the chance of " Eldlerly lady, Japanese but can speak bits of english. enough to know that Mr Roto-Rooter had to go to "Lowes" to purchase some parts he didnt have" and have conversation saying that they "GUARANTEE Their work and parts. enough that after the following day he understood she had a leak because "he forgot to put the pipe sealer so it was leaking from that. But he for got to let her know that the cost was going to be almost $1000.00. or what labor per hour was appearently money is not a concern for the Roto Rooter service man. He wasnt paying the bill. She just felt safe because it was ROTO-ROOTER. (BEWARE JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE A BIG COMPANY SINGING A CUTE SONG. FOR MANY YEARS, that you are safe. Because You know You cant do it yourself) $750.00 total 99.00 parts the rest labor and driving? Rose/Oly?WA

BTW: This was not an after hour or week end call . And it just so happened for some reason we ended up with a drip leak in our bathroom I know not all jobs are the same but . My husband after working 10 hours (Not a Plumber) But has some expieriences doing repairs. while working for the city. he did repairs for elderly or the disabled. He took the parts off went to Lowes bought the same type of pipe for $9.00 and came home replaced everything he didnt cable any line we had no blockage (Neither did my mom I guess added more time???) it took about 2.30 hours . I did call Wayne BTW "he is the guy who handles these types of complaints" I called him when I found out what had happened he told me he'd check into this he did and he called me back as he said he would. He explained to me that there was lots of drive time and they we so kind in not charging my mom for (I dont know) and that they "USE QUALITY PARTS" (My mom said the tech Scott said he had to run to lowes to get a piece he didnt have). But when he told this to me he made it sound like they went through some special Roto Rooter parts place. I like Lowes we go there all the time. My mom told me she told Scott dont cash till wed. that she had to go put money in the account to cover the check. He agreed That was sooooooooooo thoughtful. I see Roto Rooter Trucks it makes me wonder hmmmm (hopeing that someone else wont have this happen.
