Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

February 2018 Robert Waller claimed he could restore a damaged front end of a 68 Firebird.

After being given $3000 in new parts from Classic Industries of California and $3000 via check and Paypal, he started asking for more parts he claimed he needed. A couple months went by in which time any competent restorer would have had the front end finished.

The new hood was painted along with the front left side panel over the wheel. The requests for more money were denied as I had discovered numerous reports on the internet site  Ripoff Report, detailing the same experiences  by others that I was having with Waller.

Instead of completing the job and then showing an invoice/billing for any 'extra' parts needed ( if there were any after supllying over 60 parts in two orders from Classic Industries) Bob continued making all manner of excuse to have me pay more money.

As this was a vehicle for my son in Texas and showed no sign of being completed (after 4 months in his posession, I asked him to return the car to me which he clearly did not want to do at that time by his responses on email. He undoubtedly did not want me to see the condition or lack of progress compared to the $6350 I had invested to that point.

After I suggested he contact Classic Industries in CA. about the parts he felt were not correct, he said they told him they did not have them and he would need to get them from somewhere near his location. I called Classic Industries who looked into this and they said he never spoke with anyone there.

The car was sold to a friend in another state who went and collected it from Waller.

He took it to a Firebird restorer in Massachusetts who had trouble finishing the job due to incorrect bolts in places, a radiator that seems to not be what was bought from Classic Industries etc etc....End result, it cost the new owner another $1500 to get it rectified.

We will be meeting and going over the work and parts Waller used, to compare to original parts ordered new, and where there are discrepencies, hope to find the unused new parts in the trunk as promised by Waller.

As reported by so many others in Ripoff Report, Bob Waller has more excuses than yoiu can shake a stick at for not doing a job he has been paid in advance for. He presents himself as able to restore autos, 'classic' autos in particular. I'm sure if fed enough money and time he will eventually get the job done but you will not be treated properly, in a transparent fashion, with straightforward dealings. That was my experience.
