Reid's AUTO SALES in Eight Mile, Al. ripped me off too
On 02/29/00, Sam and Elizabeth Young of Citronelle, Al submitted a report on Reid' Auto Sales. Please refer to their posting before reading any further.
Unfortunately, I purchased the same 1990 Mitsubishi from Reid's Auto Sales in Eight Mile, AL. I have taken the car back to the dealer repeatedly over the last months(the first time being only two days after purchasing the car), but they claim that nothing is wrong with the car. They have started charging me for parts and labor every time I want them to check the car out but whatever they are doing is not solving the problem. I should have known that the car was a piece of junk immediately, but having limited income and not too good of a credit history, I decided to see if the car could be fixed.
After the fourth time taking the car back, I have had enough. I see that all they are doing is milking me for money and I'm not even able to use the car. I told them to come get the car because I'm not paying another cent on it.
They are now in the process of repossessing the car, which they will probably sell to another unsuspecting consumer.
I was so upset with the treatment that I received from this dealer that I started researching the web to see if any reports had been filed against them for their un ethical practices and I ordered a vehicle history report to see if the car was a lemon. Through the vehicle report I found out that the car has had seven different owners other than me. I last three owners have not keep the car for more than a few thousand miles.
To my utter disbelief, I came across your web site and the posting from the Young 's about Reid's Auto Sales. I know that in all consumer purchases the "Buyer Beware", but this is ridiculous. These people are preying on poor people, who under normal circumstance don't have the money or gall to fight back. Well fortunately, I have the gall and I will find the money
to fight back. I am consulting a lawyer to see if I have any legal recourse in this matter.
I would never recommend Reid's Auto Sales to anyone, they are a complete RIPOFF. To the Young 's, if you happen to read this message, please contact me at [email protected].
