Buying a house and finding faults
I purchased a home from a seller, not a real estate agent. It was winter when I purchased it and couldn't see all the bad things. I paid cash for the house, and the seller told me the septic was working, where in reality it is in bad shape. When it rains, the living room windows get wet and it runs down the paneling, where the electrical wires are. The water is smelly, and all sorts of things are showing up now. I just want to know if I have any legal rights to atleast confront the seller and have him atleast help in the repair work, or am I responsible for all of this myself. We had the house appraised, but never did the seller get an electrician or plumber in there. I took the sellers word that the place was ok. If you cannot help me, maybe you can refer me to someone who can. Thanks, Joan
